The wife of a soldier with 6 Division of the Nigerian Army in PortHarcourt, Rivers State, has been arrested alongside her husband, for beating her 10 year old stepdaughter to death for eating the plantain bought by the father.

Eyewitness reports that while the woman was savagely beating the deceased, a female soldier ran into the house to intervene, but she was ordered out by the primary suspect’s husband.

The beating allegedly continued until the 10 year old girl slumped. She was then rushed to a Clinic, but it was too late to save her. The couple are now in detention at the 6 Division of Army Barracks.

She should be led in those cuffs to the forest in Sambisa with her cowardly husband and left there for the real soldiers to interrogate them.

I find it difficult to beat kids generally, even though we are expected not to spare the rod! I can't just stand children crying out to me pitifully, I can't! I really don't know how it's possible for someone to beat a child enough to lead to death, despite their plea for mercy

I'll always say this... no woman should leave her children for another woman to take care of them, especially if they are no longer together... it's very risky.. Some women are animals in nature
