Will Gov. Fashola Of Lagos Get 2nd Term Ticket? by awuf2008: 6:28pm On Dec 14, 2010
The way the current politicking is going on in lagos,
there is every chances that our present Governor
Raji Fashola might not got the 2nd term ticket.
this is unconnected with recent doctors and academic
staff strikes and many more.

Is your thinking same as mine?
Whats your take on the above.
Your honest views will be appreciated.

Compared to other governors, he is doing well.

But one thing I dont subscribe to is hero-worship.

If his party gives the ticket to someone, who they believe can do even better, why not?

Politicians come & go, & so will Fashola, even if he does a 2nd term.

I certainly dont follow the herd that says no one else can do better than Fashola. How do they know?
Re: Will Gov. Fashola Of Lagos Get 2nd Term Ticket? by laggchick: 1:20am On Dec 15, 2010
Fashola started off really good at the beginning of his government but i kinda noticed a downturn sad sad in service delivery sometime from the ending of last year to this very moment. .a lot of bad roads, strikes from service men and other stuff sad sad. .We cant always blame the Governor for everything but i would say his leadership style is a bit relaxed and while he has done pretty well it's time for a new person to bring fresh energy to the seat wink wink. .lets have fresh ideas, fresh innovations and that fresh energy that new occupants to public offices in nigeria are known for and hopefully this time with sustainability wink.

Last two weekends the media was awash with information about those who had purportedly signified their intention to contest the ACN primaries alongside fashola . .they were Adeyemi Ikuforiji the present speaker, Tunji Bello the MD of LASAA , Muiz banire the commissioner for environment and Toyin Hamzat the Commissioner for science and tech . .(Forgive me if im only looking inwards ACN but i don't think those PDP stooges have anything to offer us). ACN seem to have a beautiful succession strategy in place where people are trained and prepared for higher office so they know what theyre getting into even before they get there and hence they are well prepared.

I did a background check on all the above mentioned and found only one of them to have what it will take to not only meet up with Fashola's achievements but possibly surpass it. .YES SURPASS IT ! ! I easily arrived at this conclusion because if you consider that Fashola had no real administrative experience before becoming Governor apart from his brief stint as Chief of staff, you will agree with me that this guy im about to pick as my preferred candidate is more than qualified and prepared for the weighty and heinous task we so speak . I love my lagos and im not about to bequeath it to any half baked half ass nicompu who just wants to eat national cake.

My preferred choice happens to be noone other than this MUIZ BANIRE fellow. . Apart from being a three time commissioner he has introduced more innovations in nigerian governance than we are made to be aware of.

*He reportedly innovated the idea of LASTMA which we all enjoy today and is being replicated by many states-

*He reportedly innovated the BRT scheme which we all enjoy-

*He reportedly advised and executed the clearing of the Oshodi nemesis. . an achievement which is a pride of Fashola

*He has reportedly planted over three million trees in lagos to fight climate change

From what i saw on his facebook page these achievements listed above are just a few of what he has done in this govt. .what wowed me most was his profile

This is exactly what Tinubu wants, make people feel as if the party does not want him to go for a 2nd term.My problem with Banire is that Tinubu will continue to steal massively from Lagos as he is doing presently. All I want is someone that will come in to stop this massive looting by Tinubu,

@lagchick. . . . .you too much joo. but alas, a second term is the norm in politics all over the world. also fashola has broken barriers unheard of in Nigeria so i think muiz would probably have to wait. in as much as he has done great things as you claim, we have to agree that the hallmark of a great leader is the ability to identify talent, nuture it and let it roam free. considering the norm of Nigerian politics muiz would never have flourished except for the great leadership of fashola so we should give honor to whom honor is due. @fahola. . . . YOU ARE THE ONLY LIGHT OF HOPE SHINNING IN THAT CESSPOOL CALLED NIGERIA, SO YOU HAVE MY SUPPORT 150% AND THEN SOME.

I ve been telling people since that this Muiz is the only person that can take lagos to new heights after fashola. .the guy is like a robot and never gets tired. once i went for an event at NIIA where he was the special guest of honor and he unbelievably drove himself into the venue in a busted toyota corrolla without any police or aides.  . he had taken his seat among members of the crowd and had organizers panicking as to whether he would show or not until one of them spotted the young technocrat somewhere amongst the crowd possibly making changes to his speech.

Personally i dont agreethat he will hand over the treasury to tinubu. .there is now ekiti and osun so tinubu wil let lagos breathe a little and muiz will have funds and that undying energy to work and work for a newer and brighter lagos

my guy, all that one na circus act to make us believe he is humble. A politician is still a politician and can never be trusted. Personaly i think he was stupid to even do a thing. with the level of insecurity in nigeria why would he take such a risk? like it or not kidnappers are looking for anyone who can afford a million bucks. i still dont understand how that makes him a great leader. A great leader is one who identifies another leader and nutures him like fashola did with him.

it is shameful to read educated people write the above YET Tinubu, the Ashiwaju of Area Boys is posturing as a democrat while he casts PDP as the demons.  shocked It's like the money is for the politicians not OUR taxes and whatever Abuja gives them on our BEHALF. angry
Obviously we are too scared to even vote the thugs out and reclaim our liberty.

Lagos want fashola back for 2nd term, so tinubu and his boy muniz should back off.

so Fashola is not Tinubu's boy abi

Muniz should become Deputy that way there'll be a smoother transition if the ACN are to going with the usual naija way

with about £500 i can pay for a top notch CV like muniz wink

But i really think its weird when people attend the same university throughout from undergraduate to Ph.D level after a while the marks will just roll as padi padi levels

same with people that work in the same sector or for the same company for a very long time

chances are they wont do to well outside their comfort zone

Why should he automatically deserve a second term? what policies, projects has he executed that is benefiting the life of a common Lagosian. This is a man whose allegiance is not to Lagosians but to the Chief agbero of lagos state Tinubu. If the best Lagos state can get from leadership is in the class of Fashola, then i dare to say Lagos state will not witness any meaningful development in the next 30 years. Is it the bad leadership Nigerians have  experienced makes them think Fashola is  a people oriented Governor, i laugh in Chinese.I need you guys to reel out his major people oriented policies he has put in motion.Eko oti baje ton, Wake up Lagosians Fashola is a pretender another scam polician whose political godfather is the grand chief thug of south west

i can see that some people are biased,, they seen the transparency of a government, even with the problem in this country and they still criticize,,, but all i know is that the MUIZ book writer, should go and become a prof. in a school , for progress sake.

If tinubu who only lays emphasis on 'i laid the basis in which you are enjoying what you are now' had 2 terms, im of the opinion FASHOLA deserves a 2nd term so he can lay a more solid foundation for the next person. When a moth back i told you all how this thing would play out, some laughed it off but its right in your faces now isnt it? yes Banire, bello and ikufori whatever are there but watch the snake called JIMI AGBAJE, yes JIMI AGBAJE of ACN!!!
