The Emirs being the traditional leaders in northern Nigeria, represent the people and as such they often speak the mind of the majority of the people, just like their counterparts do across the different Geo-political zones.

Nigeria's Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has curried the favor of the emirs, what with their frequent commendations and also recommendations.

The traditional ruler of President Muhammadu Buhari's hometown, the Emir of Duara, commended the Vice President for standing by the President, stating that "His relationship has remained cordial with Buhari largely because of his honesty". This statement as well as many others from other Emirs confirms that the traditional stools actually have an understanding of the prevailing atmosphere and don’t support the cabal, but rather love Osinbajo for his impecible character.

Before the multitudes of Prominent dignitaries who attended the turbanning ceremony of Buhari’s nephew, Alhaji Musa Haro in Duara, such as the chief of staff to the president, Abba Kyari, Secretary to the Federal Government, Mr Boss Mustapha, Gov Nasiru El Rufai of Kaduna State and the deputy governors of Jigawa, Sokoto, Zamfara, Yobe and Kano states; the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar described Osibanjo as the most trustworthy vice president of Nigeria who has the best interest of Nigeria on his mind, as well as his loyalty and support to Mr. President.

Another salient reason why the emirs admire Osinbajo is the genuine appreciation his work in the past. The Emir of Lafia, Hon. Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I described Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as a pacesetter who revolutionized the judiciary sector in Nigeria.

His words, “Your Excellency, it is at your time that some of the innovations going on now that have helped so much in the delivery of the justice system made it easy, it was your time as Attorney General that we saw for the first time in this country, the coming in of the multi-court house.
The review that you had of the condition of service and what the changes in Lagos would represent which became the first example of this country, others went to borrow from Lagos and it has become uniformed in many states”.

Acknowledged for his empathy and milk of human Kindness, the VP is arguably the most preferred Vice President by the Emirs in recent times. One of the main characters of the Vice President is his humility and the respect he accords the traditional stools, this attitude of his, has bought him homes away from home. For example, when the VP visited Kano state for the inauguration of some state projects, the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, told Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to consider Kano State as his second home.

No doubt, in Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Emirs have found a trust worthy politician.

He remains a man of peace and progress, a very unifying personality in this administration. The only people who do not like seeing him carry out his official duties are the real enemies of the people and Nigeria's progress.

Even the Bible was very explicit: A man of Impecible character will dine with Kings. VP Osinbajo has been known to rever our traditional rulers as he is also always trying to get them on board as relates to the security of the citizenry within their locales.

I wonder what part of Nigeria you are from where traditional leaders represent you as a person, and as such they often speak the mind of the majority of the people.

Quite a lot of people all over Nigeria are telling a lot of traditional leaders to shut up and not talk at all! Just go ask the decent Emir of Kano who can't seem to stop telling his people to have fewer children, to their utter chagrin.

All those praises won't fetch him the presidency in 2023. Watch as the same praise singers will betray him for another northerner then. He should just learn from the Tinubu treatment and identify with Amotekun now before it's too late.

I like him, he's a good man to have by your side. He's a patriot, no doubt. I just can't understand what he's doing by Buhari's side.

How can he approve of releasing boko haram members after being captured?

The man perplexes me.

Maybe he's Buhari's guardian angel that is preventing Buhari from committing too many blunders that will destroy all Nigerians.

That's the only excuse I can find for him.

the reason for the release of certain Boko Haram members has been routinely discussed but let me try and shed a little light on it.

Not all BH members are willing participants in the war;

1) some of them were captured and armed to act as fodder
2) some of them were forced to join under threat of murder of their siblings
3) Some joined due to peer pressure

for the above classes of individuals, it is pretty easy to rehabilitate them as they usually turn on their captors and provide a lot of useful information that the Armed Forces can then use for countermeasures.

these persons usually tend to surrender of their own volition as against the real hardened criminals who believe that dying while fighting is some form of martyrdom. These ones will never be released as they are made to face the full wrath of the law.

The VP has shown so much respect to the traditional rulers. He carries them along, needing their help to combat insecurity. The VP's show of humility has been outstanding, making sure he attends functions when called on. And, the traditional rulers know and have recognized the role VP Osinbajo plays in this government.

Not only Northern emirs love Osinbajo, almost 90% of Nigerians loves the man because his energy is second to none, his achievement can never be overlooked, he's a man of integrity with zero corruption case, he's recognized globally and most importantly, the man is 100% a problem solver. May God continue to elevate him more.

Hmmm... I never saw it from that perspective before.

You do understand though that it is easy for a die hard Boko Haram member to feign repentance and go back to killing, right?

So how exactly do we know who is genuine or not.
