I don't have any problems with what they did and I'm not what u call yourself. What I'm saying is that there is different between regional security and community police. I love Nigeria.

Northerner prefer Christian from southern part of the country to become president than Muslim from southern. The only reason is that they can use religion to control him than Muslim from southern.

Stop trying to switch your comment, this is what you posted and what I quoted.

You equated their love for the VP with religious and regional bigotry.

Some people love naturally without ethnic or religious coloration.

Listen I am always in awe of how much they love him in the North. Probably because of the selflessness he demonstrated during his time as Acting President and the love he showed them.

I’ll never forget his swift intervention for the IDPs when they were almost dying of famine

No jokes apart, osinbajo deserves every love he is receiving. He is a a good, hardworking and caring man. I know the constitution has limited the office of the Vice President. If not, if he had the constitutional backing, he will do a lot. Sample was seen when he was acting president. If he decides to run in 2023, I will vote for him.

“It was when you came in that we had the 1st ever review of the Rules of Court; we never had that in NGR; we then at the FCT went to borrow & see what was going on in Lagos; & today that has become the uniform rule in NGR; it is your handiwork."- Emir to the VP.

This is what I call fallacy of hasty generalisation, not all leaders in Nigeria are bad, there are still some good ones, and I bet you Osinbajo is one of them.

Jhayphil:
There is a peculiar but heartwarming trend that continually plays out in Nigeria every time the Emirs and other traditional rulers in the North have the opportunity to host VP Yemi Osinbajo on his numerous official visits.

These royal fathers from the predominantly Muslim Northern region are usually so enamored with a Christian pastor from the South West of Nigeria and this is for no other reason than Prof. Osinbajo being the most hardworking VP we have ever had the opportunity to see as a nation.

Their admiration is usually very public and effusive; hence they can never be misquoted or misinterpreted, even by the most mischievous of reporters.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III openly praised Osinbajo on the 29th of November, 2019, at the General Assembly of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA). He applauded the Vice President for his leadership, which he said was given to him by God.

Prof. Osinbajo was also applauded a couple of weeks earlier by the Emir of Daura Alhaji Faruk Umar on the 2nd of Nov, 2019, for his loyalty and commitment to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Umar described Osinbajo as the most trustworthy vice president of Nigeria, who always has the best interest of Nigeria on his mind.

The Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II recently told Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to consider Kano State as his second home. He made this grand royal gesture of hospitality when he received Osinbajo in his palace in Kano on January 13, 2020.

These royal fathers seem to be greatly in awe of his humility, for such a learned fellow and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria; it would not be out of place were the VP to be aloof and proud of his accomplishments. However, the reverse is the case, as we have seen him show such empathy and milk of human kindness, even in the most spontaneous of moments in public when he relates with the crowds who always troop out on the roads whenever he goes on his work visits to the Northern states.

No matter how many times we hear the divisive rhetoric, one glaring fact is that these royal fathers clearly appreciate the loyalty and tacit support with which the VP carries out his duties in support of his boss. We have seen a president and vice president get involved in full blown battle of supremacy while being occupants of Aso Rock Villa, this is why the brotherly bond of trust shared by Buhari and Osinbajo from inception of their administration is very noteworthy.

Another fact worth mentioning is that even when there was a highly orchestrated and strategically executed media blitzkrieg against the VP by forces popularly called ‘the cabal’ within the corridors of power in Abuja, these Northern traditional leaders saw through it all with such uncanny wisdom and continually preached for unity between the first two citizens while admonishing their detractors.

These royal fathers have witnessed firsthand many internal power plays, even in their own palaces; hence they were not easily swayed by the loads of unfounded rumors which were deployed against the person and character of the VP.

As a man who is steadfastly working in the interest of every Nigerian, both at home and abroad, it does not take much observation to see that these Northern leaders sincerely appreciate the people-friendly policies and actions carried out by Osinbajo in the course of executing his official duties as the Vice President of Nigeria.

He is a man of his words, and he has publicly sworn twice to carry out these duties for the good of the people, irrespective of religious or regional differences.

David Omoruyi writes from Abuja.
Don't just worry,by 2023 go n ask those same emirs their thoughts about osibanjo, you hear!

It's easy to love a person who has zero ambition and just accepts anything you throw at him. For all the intellect Osinbajo has, they clearly don't consult him before formulating policy even in his areas of expertise. The poster just want to do a hagiography, and we've read it.

Osinbajo is the best beyond surface thoughts. He leads and follows with discretion. That's a complete personality in the circle of socialization.
