if now is when you decided to pick a craft then I say you slipping down a slope of doom, you have a craft I have a job lol there's a difference. No one wants your irritating book, the world has enough of those already

Soso (only) as in Okan soso (one only) and Akara (Bean cake) are pure and genuine Yoruba words. Igbos who don't understand Yoruba Language much, even find it a bit difficult to pronounce Akara properly for the first few times. I knew this because I grew up in Surulere with many Igbo friends. so the OP should cut those crap and lists only the words he/she is sure of...

Thanks, Jamaicans are Yoruba’s and Ghanaians. Every African American from the US to Chile are Yoruba originated. The Igbos and other Nigerian tribes were never shipped to the new world as slaves. They were thrown into the Atlantic Ocean. grin

I agree with you. Soso means only in Yoruba. Igbo language copied soso from the Yoruba’s. Same as Akara. Are you happy grin

Lol! I hope they won’t claim unu too. The truth remains that Igbo words can never be lost. In terms of the ethymology of words, you can easily tell who owns what. Igbos don’t go around claiming words that ain’t there’s. Therefore others should allow Igbo words be.

So your claim to ancestry in Jamaica is down to few words like Unu, Soso. This can be likened to coincidence. Soso also means only in Yoruba and Akara is generally known throughout the entire south west. You can't claim language similarity by pin pointing few words. There has to be a coordinnated expressions that bear similar meaning. So many words coincide around the world.

Lol! But your other moniker is still quoting me at the same time. I think the time you invest in your e wars on Igbos cultural threads should be focused on Yoruba links in Brazil, don’t you think so? How many times do you see Igbo guys sniff on your those threads?

So how come we’ve not been hearing about this soso in daily Yoruba words and names? Unlike the Igbos where the soso is a common theme in names, words, grammars and Igbo music.
Take for instance these names and meanings
Sochima - only God knows (late Okparaji’s middle name)
Soso ya ji nma agha - Only him held the cutlass
Soso mu na gi - Only I and you
Soso nri ka ima eri - Only food is what you know how to eat.
Soso gi ka m ga efe - Only you shall I worship (Igbo gospel song)
And countless
So let’s see the Yoruba version.

In that case I carefully read the posts, which is why I always defeat u guys.
In this case I went by only the headline - I posted so someone can summarize (as u just did!), as I didn’t read OP

Just read what you typed, you didn't read but you jumped to conclusion.
I enlightened you because it is good to share wisdom and knowledge to those who lack it.

Na yourself you defeat not me.
Go back to that thread(s) and you will see you agreed with my point(s).

You even tried to shift goal post in one of those threads by saying you don't know much about the state's politics but your friend told you about it.

Any reason why Jamaica in particular?

@ the italicized..... that's a big no; no always read b4 commenting especially if the comment would be controversial.

@ the bolded....not really sure, same way the Yoruba were mostly taken to Brazil.

No one is dragging Jamaica with Ghana. Slavery industry is an important part of their economy. The topic is just educational.

Every ethnic group has right to talk or write about their ancestors or relatives who are presently in South , North or central America or wherever they are located in the world.

So, I plead with you to ignore bitterness even if Ibos are in Jamaica or wherever they are. Besides, there are many other ethnic groups in Jamaica, so celebrate ibos or let their thread be.

You lots know where you fight your battles and that’s usually in the politics and crime thread. IPOB vs Afonja! Nnamdi Kanu vs Tinubu/Buhari, APC vs PDP isn’t it?

Cultural threads are usually immune to such battles because the IPOB members see nothing reasonable to argue there. This is why you can count Yoruba culture threads such as this with no form of interference. And if those guys can stealth their swords there, then you guys should restrict your tribal battles too.

So you lots should do the same and not jump into every section to pollute the place. Many people come here to learn one or two things. When you have anything to disprove, then you do so with proofs.
