When your heart is ready and your mental strength is firm, there are steps you take which shows seriousness.

What I learnt today February 18 2020.

I have been worried about having my own family. So today, I took the Bull by the horn and went to kwara state registry in ilorin. When I got there, it was already past 4pm which was their closing. But I was attended to by a staff.

The staff asked if it's a church wedding combined with registry and I said it's only wedding at the Registry. She asked if I wanted my wedding to be during working days or weekend. She said weddings are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Tuesdays and Thursdays weddings cost 13,000naira, which will be paid at KWIRS office and the teller will be brought as evidence of payment to the Registry for further process.
Saturday weddings cost 15,000 naira which will be paid at KWIRS office and and the payment teller will be brought to the Registry as evidence of payment.
She said after me and my intending wife have decided on the day we choose for our wedding, we would be given some forms to fill. After filling those forms, we would both attach our recent passport to it.

When we are ready for the wedding, we are expected to give the Registry a 21day notification and also bring 1 crate of Malt and 2 pacs of Cabin biscuit. It's meant to be shared with those people present.

Everything totalled under 20,000 naira . But that wasn't what freaked me. Something changed in me when the woman said "you and your wife will fill this form and attach your passport to it". What really changed in me?

Could it be a deeper sense of belonging or realizing I have truly come of age. Or maybe it's because I don't even have a girlfriend yet but only went to the Registry as a sign of Faith.
