Ashraf Gani has been re-elected as Afghanistan President. The results will be announced five months after the vote. The Independent Electoral Commission has now released the results of its suspension following allegations of sabotage.

Gani was elected with 50.64 percent votes, the Election Commission said. The election was held on September 28, 2019. Opposition candidate Abdullah Abdullah received 39 percent of the vote. Abdullah Abdullah claimed victory and formed a parallel government. Abdullah alleges the misuse of three lakh votes.
The election results were to be announced on October 19. But due to technical problems and complaints, it was long gone.
