Filling Stations Shut Down In Port Harcourt by brainbox80: 3:54pm On Feb 20, 2020
It's an unpleasant situation in Port Harcourt, Nigeria as all fuel stations are shutdown. This is as a result of the ongoing strike action by the joint leadership of National Union of Petroleum And Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG/Major Marketers of Nigerian petroleum products and Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Rivers State chapter against the impoundment of their tankers by the members of the armed forces.
Further investigation revealed that prior to this action that has left a lot of travelers stranded, they had sent out a secular on the 17th February 2020 directing all Petroleum filling stations in the state, to shut down their filling stations. The marketers are protesting against the unending impoundment of legitimate trucks carrying petroleum products by the Anti-Bunkery task force units of the Nigerian Army, Civil Defense Corps, Police, and other unknown task force units. Furthermore, all efforts are been made to reach out to the government of Rivers State, Nigeria and the leading representatives of all aggrieved parties so that they can resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
