A final year accountancy student of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku perished on the spot in a fatal accident that occurred along the school road on Thursday.

The deceased simply identified as Monday Odogbor was reportedly overtaking when he lost control and rammed his vehicle into a palm tree at the popular African House in Ogwashi-Uku.

A report obtained from NigerDeltaToday quoted eyewitnesses as saying the deceased who was billed to commence final year first semester exam next week, was returning home from a party with friends when the accident took place.

Other occupants of the vehicle believed to be students of the institution were rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
