On a serious level, it's people messing around and eating wild animals that brought us HIV, Ebola, Lassa, and Conavirus.

Please let's stop this practice... who knows what we're breeding here in Nigeria with this love of bushmeat and snakes.

A West African Gaboon Viper, to be precise. One of the deadliest snakes on our green planet.

A master of camouflage that does NOT move when stepped on amid dry leaves, the Gaboon Viper's lightening quick bite injects lethal overdoses of highly toxic poison in the blink of an eye, after which the flesh of the bitten area proceeds to rot before the disbelieving eyes of the victim, who then goes on to die a horrible, lingering death, if anti-venom is not administered quickly to any person bitten by this dangerous reptile.

Mature Gaboon Vipers sport well-deserved Devil's Horns on their heads, as shown in the accompanying pictures.

If you see this snake anywhere that shooting is permitted, I would recommend AAA buckshot cartridges for a humane dispatch that ought to vaporize that ugly head, if administered with loving care from about ten feet away with a 12 gauge shotgun.

I knew it, thanks man. Nationa Geographic channel isn't a waste

It is a gaboon viper. Very risky venomous snake. Even cutting off the head, these guys took a risk. Some vipers give birth to young live. Imagine cutting g open a pregnant one and being bitten by the young about to be birthed

Oh Lawd, still eating exotic meats in these times of corona virus? You have no idea of any viral illness or bacterial infections these animals may be carrying. You must be a brave man indeed taking such risks.
