[img][/img]I am suspecting my brother is up to something to funny. He lives in the United States. I bought an iPhone worth $1000 direct from Apple and had it sent to him. He’s been stalling with regards to sending it to Nigeria for over 2months now. Finally we agreed on using DHL but he just texted me saying. A friend told him that it’ll get seized in Lagos and then they’ll request I sort them out(probably money). So he offered a suggestion that he’ll send it through cargo to someone in Lagos and then that person will have it sent to me in return. So I’m confused here, should I go stick with DHL or go along with his suggestions. Please I need suggestions ASAP. Thanks

Very true.

Why won't you trust or believe your brother?

The whole circumstance is funny.
Usually with things like this he gives it someone else coming to Nigeria, but all of a sudden nobody’s coming to Nigeria. We decided to DHL last week, he didn’t, then from the blues he offers this, which involves a 3rd party. I mean, with a 3rd party involved, anything can go wrong and then it’s gone.

Back to your comment: Is that they seize your package completely or just request you pay some money and if you’ve experienced, like how much was it?

With the way agents operate here with impunity, they could seize it and label you a yahoo boy. But I'm sure you have your purchase receipt and can sue them to the letter if they towed that outlandish line.

And yes, they'd ask you to pay extra charges as custom duty on the phone.

Your brother's best bet is to find someone coming to hand the phone.

Now, I understand why you are sceptical about his moves though.

Your brother can send it as a gift to you through DHL. It's not illegal to send things through DHL, Nipost Speed post, or Fedex and you can have him address it using a female relative name & address. If he claims that they will label you a Yahoo boy, what will they label your Mother or Aunt? I have received a Tablet through one of the postal Coy. before.
