Must you guys be negative in all situations? This corona nonsense hasn’t caught any African in his own soil as far as I know. If people had caught it we would have heard deaths no matter what. The point being made is that you and me will not go to hospital because of flu like symptoms, hence there is an understandable concern the virus may be spreading. Of course, one hopes it isn't, but what if it is. In these times, there's no sense in being positive. Prepare for the worst, that's what all other countries are doing, while we, on the other hand, are hoping for the best in Jesus's name.

You dey mind them? Incubation period is from 3 to 14 days which makes it possible he either contracted it in the USA or during the long haul. From Dubai to washingtom DC takes several hours. If he boarded any of the middle eastern flights like Qatar or Emirates , its possible he contracted it either while urinating at the airport or during his layover in those countries during which he must have had contact with the infected person unknowingly.

Moreover, that route is much plied by the asians due to its closeness to their region which makes it more likely for him to have contracted the Coronavirus there before getting to the USA. Again, it's possible he contracted it while in the air by sitting next to a chinese who had contracted it but the virus was still latent in the Chinese body, maybe a day old as at the time he boarded same flight with the Nigerian which could be unnoticed. If you're going to america, you spend a minimum of 1 day, including the time of layover. So, the one day spent during flight plus the 2nd and the 3rd night stayed. He tested positive in probably the 3rd dayor so. Don't forget the news source said he stayed in DC for a night.

At times, when America wants to rubbish you, they come out fast to tell the whole world. Just yesterday, WHO commended Nigerians for the way they created awareness and also contained the virus. The Italian was said to have been in a stable condition and would soon be discharged which USA must have seen as a dent on their image, being the world HQ of medicine and science because those who contracted the virus were just dying over there with all their so-called perfection but an ordinary developing country like Nigeria was able to tackle the menace, giving the whole world updates about the state of health of the italian who imported the virus. I'm doubly sure the Nigerian in DC didn't contract the virus from home which America must have been certain of but covered up. Was it not same America who said no missiles from iran hit USA military base in Iraq after sulemani drone attack, before we later got to know that scores of American soldiers were hit by the missiles and died?

I remember when ebola virus broke out in Nigeria as imported by irene Sawyer, the Liberian and a couple of other foreigners. Barak obama said the vaccine wouldn't be for africa yet because it would take time as subsidy was necessary for it to go round but they were using same to treat their people back home. Meanwhile, Africans were dying of the virus and Nigerian doctors found a panacea to it, treated the infected Nigerians who were detected early and moved to other african countries to help. USA was shocked and Obama commended our effort, now asking a team from USA to come to Nigeria to learn how we contained the ebola virus.


You see,we are a great nation. The problem we are facing is leadership. Boko haram, herdsmen, bandits, kidnappers, cattle rustlers,corruption...all are a product of leadership woes. They thrive in the mist of all these menaces. The day we get leadership right as a country would be our truly Independence Day.

The virus strain is very sensitive to head and acidity and has a very short life outside conducive environment so said experts, not many of nigerians go to clinic for flu and we may have developed some level of resistance to the virus without knowing. Many Nigerians and black africa may be carrying the virus right now without knowing it because of our environment and immune system. Here we normally allowed our system to gradually defeat the flu virus, procold only help to speed up the process.

Unless there is a cluster of death, even things like ebola are not usually quickly taken note of in west africa. There could be isolated incidences were people made it into the country with corona. The death rate is low enough it may go unnoticed as post mortem are not routine.

This naija guy spent a night in dc after landing in us befote going to a maryland hospital. We dont know how long he was in Maryland before going to the hospital. Or where he was before arriving in dc. They did not give that info other than he was nigerian. They did not even say he arrived from nigeria. Or which airline. Or if and why they are not tracking the people on the flight with him.

You didn't make sense at all. Is anything in Nigeria working? If at all you've visited any industrialized/developed country, you'd understand that common MTN network provided by a foreign firm here in Nigeria has not been allowed to work because once it starts raining in the shithole, network fluctuates, electric power goes off. But overseas, even during thunder lightening, network, electricity remains unshakened. Nigeria can only wake up if she's tagged SHITHOLE and people like you open your eyes to see that Nigeria is a hell hole in spite of enormous human & material resources she's endowed with.
