There are a lot lies, propaganda and half truths flying around as the reason Sanusi was dethroned.

Some said he was carefully edged out to prepare him for the presidency in 2023.

Others said it's because of corruption. While the government of Kano said it all has to do with insubordination.

The most laughable reasons being thrown around is that he is outspoken against the ills of the north.

Now, anybody who understands Northern politics and psychology would hardly disagree with the points I'm about to give.

1. Hypocrisy: Sanusi is one of the most hypocritical human beings to ever walk the earth. And the northerners know this.

While chairing the CBN, Sanusi accused GEJ massive misappropriation of funds. And while doing this, he was unsteady about the particular amount he claimed was missing.

This same period, Sanusi was also unduly applying CBN policies to favor certain group of people and organizations. He was also embezzling funds and making donations above the stipulated mark required by the law.

Sanusi carried that hypocrisy into Kano emirate. There, he subtly shaded the government of Kano and made her look inept and clueless. Because of his influence on social media, he used every opportunity to speak against the ills of the north.

Northerners and northern elites were never against anybody speaking truth to power as almost all Northerners are tired of some bad cultures that need to be made away with. The issue was that most of what he spoke against, he was guilty of.

A. Taking multiple wives. (He did, and a far younger one at that).

B. Radical Islam. (Northerners know his past history).

C. Spending on frivolity.(Sanusi was the most extravagant monarch Nigeria have ever had).

D. Corruption. (Sanusi was as corrupt as they come. It reflected in the way he ran Kano emirate).

Etc.

All these hypocritical live irritated and infuriated elites, the masses and most importantly Ganduje. Sanusi made him feel stupid even when it could be said that Ganduje has done more to eradicate what Sanusi has been talking about all these while. Ganduje recently stopped Street begging which is a milestone than just yapping.

2. Interference in state politics: Sanusi was one of the major instruments used in voting out GEJ and therefore felt that the post of Emir was not enough compensation for him. As a hypocrite and a person with huge sense of entitlement, he felt he should be allowed the power to determine who becomes what in Kano state. That was the beginning of his fall.

He openly supported and campaign for another party and person vying for the same seat of his kingmaker. That was the day Buhari through Ganduje decided he has to go. It was going to be a matter of time.

Finally, I'm not a supporter of GEJ, Ganduje, Sanusi and Buhari.

This is truly a good spin. But how true are your allegations?.

Obviously, a traditional ruler that condescends so low to take side with the devils will become a devil himself. That position is sanctified and earned not just by birthrights, traditions, and wealth, but by a high sense of morality, fairness and unblemished uprightness.

Well you raised good points. But the man was not accused Jonathan wrongly. Because we all knows how the Jonathan maladministration was ended.

Jonathan Administration put Nigeria to a recession but some people still believe that Buhari government do. Before that stupid overrated woman called Ngozi okonjo iwella could pay salary she have to borrow money . Such thing never happen in the history of our country.

Many states was rendered useless Because they failed to meet their financial obligations. It was Buhari administration that bailed out those states. If Jonathan had emerged in 2015 I'm pretty sure that they won't be Nigeria again.

It was easy to remove him because he wasn't the popular candidate for the throne.

His ascension was political from day one. It was used to score a political point against GEJ.

It was a case of my enemy's enemy.

At the bolded, pls stop this useless lie. You think we all have short memory here. If you don't know the meaning of recession and what leads to it kindly use google. You are talking of borrowing to pay salaries, is it not still done till today? Pls I hate defending politicians, let's just say it the way it is

Considering Sansui's history I am not surprised he was dethroned.

When a man hides under the guise of 'holier than you' amongst those who knows his past it's just a matter of time before getting thrown under the bus.

And he lacks diplomacy which can easily be noticed in his kind of Fulani arrogance.

However I wish his recent push for a better north in terms of security, education, economic development and responsible governance will be taken seriously by northern leaders cos if they failed to do the needful as I've mentioned on this platform northern Nigeria will explode sooner than later and burn itself to the ground.

I never took sides in my submission. I clearly stated what played out.

Sanusi preached against having many wives and children. He went further to condemn those who can't take care of their multiple wives and children.

The north understood it as hypocrisy because he was trying to tell them that unless you are as rich and an emir with massive fund inflow; you are not supposed to take multiple wives.

If Northern elites like Buhari, IBB etc preached such message, nobody would have taken offense. But from a serial womanizer and a man with many wives, they went crazy.

It's a pity you don't reason beyond what you're told as a Nigerian.

Are you telling us that GEJ lacked the requirements to borrow the way Buhari is borrowing that would have made Nigeria end? Has Togo, Benin republic and the likes stopped existing?

Go and read what the op wrote again.

Sanusi then wasn't specific on the amount missing. It took time before he settled for one. At such a position, that's unacceptable.
