The Lagos State Yellow Taxi/ Cab Drivers Association launched Eko Cab on Tuesday, 10th of March 2020. Eko Cab is a digital mobile app, an e-hailing ride platform like Uber and Bolt (Taxify) for yellow taxi cabs.

Dr Frederic Oladehinde, Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation said that the application will consist of more civil and well-trained drivers who will operate within public transportation guides and regulations.

The Eko Cab launch is said to be a step towards achieving T.H.E.M.E Agenda. T.H.E.M.E is Babajide Sanwoolu’s 5 pillar agenda for the development of a greater Lagos.

T :- Traffic Management and Transportation,
H :- Health and Environment,
E :- Education and Technology,
M :- Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy,
E :- Entertainment and Tourism.

The Eko Cab application is available for download in app stores but operations will not begin until the 17th of March 2020.

OK that is why they're trying to suffocate Uber and taxify...this is dead on arrival...it does not offer any differential to existing service...and the agbero kinda impression this yellow color has will need a lot of psychological rewiring of people....
even in the long run this particular company can't gain market beyond Lagos due to the tribalistic naming I wonder how such idea would be welcomed in Nnewi or Kwara
