An international pharmaceutical company seeks to recruit a Medical Representatives for its operations. The positions are based in Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Kaduna and Kano.

Job Purpose/Scope of The Role

• Developing and growing the sales in the assigned territory, by managing smartly the Push & Pull.
• Ensuring that company products are continuously available and visible at the patient end (pharmacy, hospitals, PPMVs), and are always patronized by the different healthcare professionals in the territory.

Duties and Responsibilities

A. Medical Detailing
• Performs regular and consistent medical detailing activities to gain the mindshare of the medical professionals, while managing effectively the sales team to gain market shares.
• Makes regular planned calls to Medical Professional with the aim of getting them to endorse the company’s products. Minimum daily calls will be as follows: Doctors (10 Calls), Pharmacists (5 Calls), others - Nurses, Medical Lab. Tech, etc. (5 Calls) or as per the cycle plan.
• Conducts Cycle Sales Plans -Focused Detailing Rounds, Seminars, Clinical Meetings, Promotions, Symposia, Workshops, Product Launches, Customer prospecting, and Bombardments as at and when scheduled
• Map and locate all Tertiary and Secondary Healthcare Facilities, Public and Private Hospitals, Institutional Clinics, Private Clinics, Medical laboratories, Maternity Homes, Primary Healthcare Centres and Pharmacies in the assigned Territory
• Follow strictly the Daily Routes at hand in order to maximize daily customer visits and coverage.
• Ensure at all times that the company’s properties in your possession are correctly stored and maintained and that your individual appearance is always of a standard acceptability to the medical profession and the company
• Collaborate with the Key Account Representative in your territory to raise demand and brand awareness amongst relevant stakeholder in Key institutions

Report the following competitors' activities on monthly basis:
• Pricing - Using the Value Chain Pricing Format
• Launch of New product including samples, brochures, promotional activities, etc.
• Identify your main competitors medical detailing activities, types, promotions, etc.
• Update your Health Professionals List in your territory
• Update the KOL List in your territory
• Update the CRM(VEEVA)


B- Distribution Coverage
• Achieve monthly Sales Targets by SKU for your assigned territory, while maximizing the distribution coverage of the company’s products, both numeric and weighted, and across all SKUs.
• Ensure that all Sub-D's in your territory are visited and serviced regularly by your SRs and are never out of stock. In case of any issue or claims with your customers, you should first understand the reason behind it and solve it immediately by safeguarding both the customer and the company’s interest. The KD and Sub-D agreement at hand should always be the base. If not solved within 48 hours, you should notify the ASM and/or NSM to action accordingly (i.e. overstock, slow moving SKUs, fake products, price issue, others).
• Ensure that your SRs understand, promote and scout for new Sub-D's, while retaining existing customers and building loyalty to grow
• Manage effectively your KD and inform him clearly of his monthly target and respective promotional activities. Always attend promptly to his issues whenever needed; and strive to continuously develop and grow the business. Daily stock & cash reconciliation is imperative and you must stop delivery to the said SRs until cash is recovered. If issues persist, notify immediately your ASM/NSM for further action and avoid dragging issues that will affect your KD and team motivation. Focus and results.
• Ensure you know personally all the customers assigned to your team, by visiting them regularly and attending to them promptly if needed. Scout for fake sellers and "ghost customers" and inform your ASM/NSM to take corrective action (get name, addresses); but never engage into any kind of actions against them. Management will handle directly with the Legal team and relevant authorities.
• Continuously train and coach your SRs to achieve their set sales target; while ensuring they abide by the routing given to them, avoid selling in elsewhere territory and most importantly complete on daily basis the customer card at hand without any manipulation or falsification of data.
• Ensure that your SRs sell only the company’s product range; never sell on credit; sell at the right Company official price list and hand Cash Receipts to their customers (right prices/quantities); reconcile daily cash and stock with the KD. You are equally responsible for any loss or shortage of stock and cash caused by your team.
• Ensure you follow the performance of your SRs, using the customer service reports as well as the Sub-D performance report issued by the customer service. Maintain proper stock optimization/rotation to ensure healthy sell-in and sell¬out at the Sub-D level.
• You shall receive your Sales Incentive ONLY if you achieve 100% of the set target given to you by your immediate superior. The yearly Sell-out Incentive will be communicated to you at the beginning of each financial year. Whereas, your monthly sales target will be communicated to you by your Superior at the beginning of each Quarter and will be fixed for 4 consecutive months.

Education & Experience
• University graduate B.Pharm/D.Pharm
• Strong sales background in Pharma/FMCG (2Yrs+)
• Ability to manage teams and result oriented.
• Excellent Communication skills and perfect command of English language.
• In depth knowledge of Nigerian markets
• Passion for markets and attention to details
