What does water baptism mean?
Brethren, water baptism is spiritual not canal; it is not the act of going to the river to bath or doing spiritual cleansing against evil. Water baptism means that we are partakers of the suffering of Christ.
Baptism of water in the spiritual realm means baptism of repentance. The day you are baptized in the water signifies the day of repentance. The day you are fully committed to desisting from your sinful ways of life.
Water baptism means the baptism to live in newness of life; and newness of life means the time that a person must be dead to sin.
Apostle Paul tells the Romans that we are baptized into Jesus' death. What does it mean to be baptized into his death? Jesus' death in the cross of Calvary put an end to sin. The time he died is the time we are free from the bondage of sin. That time, sin desisted from having dominion over us. That time. We left our old way of living (sinful life) and embraces a holy living.
Furthermore, Apostle Paul emphasizes that as Christ was raised up from dead, so we should walk in newness of life. Immediately that your head is raised up from the water during water baptism, it means that you have become a new man in Christ and walk in newness of life. A new man in Christ does not sin. A new man in Christ is holy.
Have you been baptized in the water? If yes, check your life if you live a sin - free life (a life without sin). The bible says that we cannot be in sin and say grace should abound.
Water baptism brings repentance and commitment to live a holy life while holy spirit baptism brings personal communion of man with God.
Brethren, if you are in sin, and you have been baptized in the water, it means you just go to the river to take your bath. It is devastating that you have no portions of the coming of Christ to this world, his birth, ministry, crucifixion, death or resurrection.
You are one of us in the physical realm; in spirit, you are like an unbeliever; Jesus does not know you because you put on the old nature (sin) in which Jesus was crucified for.
Repent today because tomorrow may be late.
