With another coronavirus victim identified in Lagos on Monday, popular choreographer, Adedayo Liadi, has drawn attention to the poor preparedness of Nigeria's immigration officials at curbing the spread of coronavirus into the country.

Liadi, who told DNA (Doggone News Associated) that he came back to Nigeria from Europe an ill man, was surprisingly not stopped for a search at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport recently.

He said 30 minutes before his flight landed in Lagos Airport, the cabin crew gave all passengers forms to fill, which he did to the best of his knowledge. "I filled the form truthfully concerning my health status and had decided that I was ready for anything that would happen for declaring the truth about my health situation. "For almost an hour, with everyone sweating on the queue, I was finally checked but I wasn't stopped. That was a surprise because I was sneezing and coughing. I felt it was God that was at work.

"I quickly went to see my doctor the next day, told him the condition of my health. He gave me four injections with lots of drugs. I stayed at home for two weeks, although I went out five times; on March 7 for my injections and drugs as prescribed by my doctor, to church the next day (RCCG Beula Chapel) for the second service between 10am and 12:30 noon. "I also attended my church special prayer night on March 12, from 6 to 9 pm, for an all-night special nonstop praise and worship program from 9pm to 5am on March 13 and finally for my church's fourth year special thanksgiving service on Sunday March 15 from 9am to 1:30pm.

Prior to his arrival from France, he had gone down with throat pain, cough, sneezing and fever five days before he left for Nigeria. "I was in France and Netherlands for meetings, holidays and work for about three months. I was always with my son during his holidays, who, unfortunately, had fever. He was sneezing, coughing for four days. I looked after him because his mother had to go to work everyday.


"After my son fully recovered, I started having serious throat pain, chest pain, coughing, sneezing and fever. I took the same medications (adult versions) as my son did and felt relived of the fever, throat pain and chest pain but the coughing, sneezing, chest irritation and spitting didn't stop. Also, my efforts to get an appointment with the doctor failed thrice because doctors were on vacation. The only date given to me to see a doctor wasn't okay with me because I would be in Nigeria by then.

"I became very curious, angry and frustrated with everything around me. But because I just finished a 50 day fasting, I put decided my faith in God to take care of me. Pharmacists would not give me anything to cure the sickness except I showed them signed doctor's prescriptions. That was when I decided it was God or nothing. But I was firmly resolved to make sure the devil must lose the battle by fire by force.


"Meanwhile, I was always feeling tired, very weak inside of me everyday. I couldn't do much or eat much, but I kept asking God to renew my strength daily and strictly followed all the instructions and directives I got online and TV concerning COVID-19 virus. I also continued to praying for my healing. To the glory of God, I can now say that I am completely okay, doing extraordinarily strong and doing great with no symptoms.

"I am seriously baffled till now that I wasn't stopped at any airport despite all the truth I declared about my health issue at all the boarders, despite the claims of controlling the corona virus. I remember too well that I crossed three different borders within four days and I got to my destination successfully. I believe God wants to reveal that He is the only One who can protect and heal us of every sickness, but are our immigration officials seriously preventing any dangerous virus at our boarder entries both land, sea and air? I leave that question for our immigration and government to answer while I continue to praise God for my freedom. I must let all Nigerians and the world know that it is only God that can heal, protect and safe. Closing boundaries can't protect any nation because the virus moves very easy and fast through the air and no one can stop the air.
