Few days ago, the government of Zimbabwe postponed this year’s independence day commemorations and the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) as part of cautionary measures to avoid Covid-19. The action was taken when a United Kingdom citizen who visited the resort town of Victoria Falls tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) The State-owned The Herald newspaper reported that the country has now declared the virus a state of national disaster and banned public gatherings of more than 100 people, for the next 60 days.
