A State In Nigeria That Was Mentioned 30 Times In The Bible by speaktome(m): 10:19am On Mar 22, 2020
The only Nigerian State mentioned in Bible 30 times in these places.

The Bible was translated mainly from Hebrew and Greek.

Abia is the Greek word for the Hebrew word : 'Abijah', 'Abijam', 'Abiyyah', 'Abiyyah', ''Abiyyahu'.

Abia means “Yahweh Is My Father” or "My Father is Lord".

Abia is the name of an Eastern State in Nigeria created in the year 1991 from part of Imo State.

It is an Igbo Land whose Capital is Umuahia, and the major commercial city is Aba.

Let us see these 30 places in the Bible.

1 Samuel 8:2

Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abia: they were judges in Beersheba.

1 Chronicles 2:24

And after the death of Hezron at Calebephrata, Abia his wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa.

1 Chronicles 3:10

And Solomon's son was Rehoboam, Abiahis son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,

1 Chronicles 6:28

And the sons of Samuel; the firstborn Vashni, and Abia.

1 Chronicles 7:8

The sons of Beker: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abia, Anathoth and Alemeth. All these were the sons of Beker.

1 Chronicles 24:10

the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abia

2 Chronicles 11:22

And Rehoboam made Abia the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.

2 Chronicles 12:16

And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abia his son reigned in his stead.

2 Chronicles 13:1

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abia to reign over Judah.

2 Chronicles 13:2

He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abia and Jeroboam.

2 Chronicles 13:3

And Abia set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.

2 Chronicles 13:4

And Abia stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;

2 Chronicles 13:15

Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abia and Judah.

2 Chronicles 13:17

And Abia and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.

2 Chronicles 13:19

And Abia pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Beth-el with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof.

2 Chronicles 13:20

20 Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abia: and the LORD struck him, and he died.

2 Chronicles 13:21

But Abia waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.

2 Chronicles 13:22

And the rest of the acts of Abia, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo.

2 Chronicles 14:1

So Abia slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.

1 Kings 14:1

At that time Abia the son of Jeroboam fell sick.

1 Kings 14:31

And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abia his son reigned in his stead.

1 Kings 15:1

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abiaover Judah.

1 Kings 15:7-8

Now the rest of the acts of Abia, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abia and Jeroboam.

8 And Abia slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.

Nehemiah 12:4

Iddo, Ginnetho, Abia

Matthew 1:7

And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

Matthew 1:8

and Abia begat Asa, and Asa begat Josaphat, and Josaphat begat Jora

Could this be the reason why its called God's Own State?
