LESS than three weeks after the leader of the kidnap gang in Abia State, Mr Obioma Nwankwo alias Osisikankwu was killed by the military Joint Task Force (JTF), his second in Command, according to the Police, Chukwuma Ajakpe, alias Baruwa has been arrested.
The state Acting Police Commissioner (ACP) Kings Omire told Journalists at a press conference in Umuahia last weekend that Baruwa was being interrogated, adding that the state Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) is being re-organized and recharged for optimum performance.
He also said that following the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim and his assurance to provide all Police needs to ensure free and fair election conduct, the state Command was complying accordingly and strategizing.
“The Police is reaching out to all stakeholders on how to have the freest and fairest election in
Abia State including Voters Registration Exercise”.
