Even if you catch the virus, it is NOT a kiss of death, since less than 3% of those infected actually die from it, and they're mostly the elderly - 75 years and above.

Nigerians should stop overblowing this thing.

In fact your chances of dying from malaria if you have it, are much much higher.

Malaria deaths worldwide annually are around 3 million.

Coronavirus deaths worldwide today stand at 18,000.

So let’s say two 65 year olds with similar health conditions are admitted at the hospital and being treated at the onset (early stages) of malaria vs corona virus, which of the patients would you give a better chance at recovery?

Malaria is a poor man disease while corona is a big man virus.
Most Nigerians form big men that is why they are scared.

It about time we take this advise because the mass hysteria is doing more damage than than the virus at this point

There is nothing like big or small man disease.

It can affect anyone just like the common cold, reportedly.

But you are MOST UNLIKELY to lose your life for catching coronavirus.

The vast majority will see their symptoms disappear even without treatment.

Malaria has a cure, coronavirus does not have yet.

Malaria has an annual death rate of 3 million, meaning that in the last 3 months, roughly 800,000 people have died from malaria, compared to 18,000 from coronavirus.

As for the 'cure' for coronavirus, 97% of people will need no 'cure'. It will simply disappear just like the common cold disappears after a few days of coughing, sneezing or catarrh. Of those who need treatment - mostly the elderly - there is pretty reliable proof that anti malaria drugs like nivaquine and chloroquine do a great job of killing it. In places like Russia, many swear that vodka does a great job.

Seriously, an illness that makes people really sick and could potentially cause more respiratory problems or become fatal, with no known cure or effective treatment, is deadlier than one which can be treated but equally deadly if untreated.

Coronavirus DOES NOT make people ''really sick'' except in EXCEPTIONAL circumstances.

Roughly 97% of people who catch it do NOT get really sick. STOP SPREADING DISINFORMATION. GO ONLINE AND RESEARCH.

1 - 3% of people who get corona virus die, which makes it 10 times deadlier than the flu which equally causes thousands of deaths annually in the US alone

It is only ''10 times deadlier'' than the flu because flu deaths are only 0.1% of carriers. But the numbers of casualties in real terms are still VERY VERY LOW, compared to other illnesses like malaria.

The patient with coronavirus has a far better chance of recovery than the patient with malaria.

In 2018, 0.1% of persons died from Malaria. So tell me, how does this compare with up to 3% mortality rate for the corona virus? Malaria isn’t contagious by the way which means there’s no danger of infection to people around you or the physician treating you. So can you now stop spreading the misinformation?

I’ll help you:

405,000 / 228,000,000 * 100 = 0.17%

Any other thing I can help you with? Or you want to keep pushing this?

We need to understand what we’re dealing with here

All am gonna say is Sorry to those who think this isnt real or lethal.

Malaria is the number 1 killing machine in the world
Caused by mosquito bites
Preventive measures are like keeping ur environment clean, Do not allow stagnant water around you
Sleep in mosquito nets
All preventive measures of malaria are working effectively if u practice them
If u have malaria, visit a clinic because cure is available.

And malaria as deadly as it is, is not prevalent is some countries

You went ahead to say we are overblowing corona virus.
We didnt overblow it, the universe did

Vatican city stopped her gatherings
Saudi Arabia cancelled pilgrimage
Iran and Iraq closed its mosques
The ever busy italy is now as silent as a grave yard
Chinese nationals now use helicopters to feed its people at home.
Russia and US closed their borders, no incoming and outgoing.
People are dying in those countries as cases tends to increase daily.
There is no known cure for this virus infection
Its already a Pandemic affecting almost countries (aside the countries who refused to report a case).

All the preventive measures are not really guarantees, wash ur hands, close ur mouth and nose, stay at home. Its not a 100% prevention yet but it helps.

Whats the cause of corona virus - unknown (so u cant even run because you dont know, unlike MALARIA

We Nigerians wont take it serious until death toll begins.
And you say we are overblowing things.
I just hope a cure is found soon and rest in PEACE to the doctors who have died trying to treat patients and to every other person.

Yen yen yen yen yen. Atleast theres a known cure for malaria and malaria parasite has been well documented.

This is a novel virus with a wider spread than malaria, yes it may not/may be as lethal as malaria, but since there is no known medical cure for now, its left for our immune system to fight it while we take medications to make the symptoms mild.

Malaria can be gotten via mosquito bite, mother to child, blood transfusion, use of contaminated needles and syringes. These modes of transfer has been well gazetted.

As for coronavirus the different modes of transfer are still being discovered, with new articles on the virus coming out everyday.

Think about it, the devil you know is better than the angel you dont know.

People die of malaria because they did not get treatment, perhaps as a result of a failed government or poverty, there are alot of malaria drugs available, am sure you wont panic if u get malaria jus because you knw you can get drugs, some lower than 1k, you can also avoid malaria by taking measures to avoid mosquitoe bite.
Yes, we need not panic but you shld not tell people to relax because corona is just like malaria
