To start with, know that some cases are straight refusal or approval so, it may not be necessary for the embassy to interview her in order to reach a decision. But there is still much time, we're still in December.
However, the onus is on you to ensure that you make visa application early enough to allow the embassy enough time to process your application. So, in the event of the embassy not being able to process your visa application due to busy schedule, the embassy would have no choice but to decide your application according to the circumstances in hand, and in most cases, the visas are refused for reason of change of circumstance or, unsuitable purpose due to change of circumstance.
And to answer your question, YES, you will have to pay another visa application fee if you decide to withdraw this current application and make subsequent one. But it is wiser to withdraw a visa application than to be refused a visa that you properly deserve.

I dont understand what you are writing if you have paid 5800 for appointment fee and you dont have an appointment yet you dont have to pay another appointment fee because you haven't used it yet it dosent expire till after a year,
Now if you have paid visa fee and you havent used it yet same applies , if you have submited a DS 160 and you dont have a date yet you wait till u get a date and you fill another form dosent matter how many forms you fee,

The only condition you pay another appointment fee 5800 is if u make an appointment and you failed to appear then you would have to pay another appt fee,
and the only reason you should pay another visa fee is if u have been denied a visa ok,

I understand you said "Visa Fee", so i gave you my response regarding the subject, "Visa Fee".

Dantecmu
Your claim about visa fee is incorrect, visa fees are not refundable regardless of any reason that led to the refusal, cancellation or withdrawal, except under some unlikely circumstances resulting from the embassy error that might compel them to take decisive action to refund the fees.
So, in the event of an applicant withdrawing his/her application, the fee is forfeitted; and every different application that s/he makes attracts another visa fee as each application is treated in its own merit. Please, refer to the Terms and Conditions governing visa application.

Correct same fing as what i wrote,

@Poster
Nobody is contradicting nobody just explanations in different forms, from my understanding you haven't booked an appointment and you haven't appeared for an interview you are scared because you have filled the DS160 online and indicated date of travel but still havent been able to book an appointment, like i said earlier on all fees paid expires after 1 year, You can book an appointment anytime and re fill your DS160 again, its dosent affect the fee , the only reason you would be required to pay another appointment fee of 5800 is if you have a date and didnt appear and failed to cancel 48hrs to the date of your appointment , as regards the visa fee the only reason you would have to pay another is if you actually appear and you are denied , now note that even if you have a date and you have paid for your visa fee and you fail to appear and you are still interested in appearing you pay for another appointment fee and not another visa fee,

The problem now is dat we couldnt get a date yet for the interview appointment. Is she we going to pay for another visa fee if she couldnt get interviewed b4 feb 2nd?
Dot_Man, perhaps you can make yourself clearer. Are you talking about booking another interview date on same visa application or, you meant making a fresh visa application due to the fact that this current application is time sensitive as a result of failing to get appropriate appointment date?

The man is asking about US visa application and not UK or Irish visa application which is what you have answered. Poster, what Dantecmu told you is correct. Just reschedule the appointment date for another date. You only need to cancel the present appointment to do that. If you do not cancel before the appointment date, the money you paid is gone and you must pay again for a new appointment. You can cancel your appointment thrice only

Good luck

thanx everyone for ur replies. . . . What u're sayin is dat:
1. If she couldnt get an appointment date b4 feb 2nd, she 'll only pay for a new appointment fee(5800).
2. What about d online form (ds-160) can she submit another one?. . . Am just curious, isnt dat multiple submittion or how can she cancel d 1st form submitted.
3. She doesnt need to pay for a new visa fee untill she appears in embassy within d year it expires. . . . Right?

1. if she has previously paid a visa appt fee of 5800 and dosent get a date b4 the 2nd of feb as stated in the DS160 you guys filled then she hasn't used the 5800 yet bcus she hasn't booked an appointment yet
2. To the best of my little understanding you can fill as much DS160 the barcode presented at the embassy it what matters the most,
3.GBAAAAAAAA your on point,

Vic
