Hello people, as health professional, I'd like to strongly advise you stay safe at this critical moment. Covid-19 isn't a joke. Unfortunately, our government aren't telling us the truth about the figure of index cases. Anyone who visits LUTH, LASUTH and Yaba Isolation centres would bear me witness. As we speak, one of the stadiums in Lagos is being converted to make-shift isolation centre. Earlier today an NGO requested some health practitioners render help. Medics, Nurses , Biomed Personnel, Intensivists aren't adequate in giving care so, much more are needed as volunteers.

It still baffles me why our government is hiding the actual figure. Nigeria isn't Benin Republic. We are a well-travelled nation and the number of flights coming into Nigeria daily is enough proof.

Please people, if you could avoid going to places like malls, densely populated,markets etc, please do. Italy where 900 people died today alone and united states constitute a large number of educated persons, when compared to Nigeria yet, the number keeps soaring. Our government isn't prepared for this. I feel like weeping right now because lives of lots of innocent Nigerians are at risk. I've concluded in my mind that, I could only cater for myself,family and close relations. Nigerian government are a bunch of independable liars. Boris Johnson came openly today to say he had the virus. Several of our politicians , starting from the presidency down to the national assembly, their family members are already victims of the corona virus but they're hiding it. This isn't helpful at all. We are not ready for this disaster omg! Our people haven't learned enough about this. I wish our politicians could go round with public address system like they did when campaigning for elections that brought them to office, from house to house and be sensitizing people. This would have helped a great deal. I've not heard of such awareness campaign yet. Maybe in other places but not on lagos

We learnt a man who was already having symptoms of covid-19 went to LUTH but was sent back because there was no had space. If the number was actually as low as recorded by the CDC, would there have been any need to convert a stadium to an isolation centre? This is appalling and a test of loyalty of our politicians to the masses.

Please people, YPO needs your help at Lamdmark Centre, V.I. We need Drs, Intensivists, Nurses, etc to give care. I'd he there myself Details are as below please also help share :

YPO (Young Presidents Organisation) Lagos Chapter led by Mrs Fola Laoye( nee Elebute), Dr Richard Ajayi and Dr Ola Brown have put together a field hospital in a converted space of the Landmark Event centre, V.I to deliver testing, isolation and treatment (including intensive care) to Lagosians starting on Monday. YPO is implementing this through a public private collaboration with the Lagos state government.

They are looking for intensivists, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, facilities staff, runners etc to staff 30 beds including 5 ICU (supported by a ventilator and significant oxygen supply) as from Monday and will roll out a further 40 beds with 3 more ventilators by the end of next week. All staff will be paid and significant investments have been made to guarantee staff and patient safety.

They especially want to work with private hospitals with acute capabilities in the city so that Covid-19 patients can be isolated and treated appropriately.

They would like acute hospitals to also be on standby to care for very acute patients on a referral basis.
