COVID-19: NIMASA Donates 20 Ventilators, ₦50 Million And Other Medical Equipment by opportunes: 12:03am On Mar 30, 2020
In the face of huge global demand, the management of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA has donated 20 ventilators to fight the COVID 19 pandemic in Nigeria. It also announced the donation of N50 million to fight the virus scourge in the country; with N30 million going to the Federal Government Committee on COVID-19 Intervention and N20 million to aid the Lagos State Government’s effort to control the spread of the virus.

The Agency’s Director General Dr. Bashir Jamoh who made this known in Lagos said that the Agency has volunteered its six fast intervention vessels to be committed to facilitate transport logistics support in the maritime sector, just as volunteers from the Agency will be deployed to join first responders from the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Lagos and other states in managing the spread of the pandemic. Ventilators are equipment that assist patients in breathing, a process sometimes referred to as artificial respiration, which are basically needed at this time to help fight the disease. Jamoh stated, “The coronavirus pandemic is upon humanity.

It came suddenly upon a virtually unprepared world, and demands drastic actions from all and sundry to contain the virus and salvage our common humanity. We are concerned about the effect of the pandemic on the socio-economic life of the country, especially at a time NIMASA, Nigeria’s maritime industry regulator, is driving a Blue Economy campaign, to make maritime a key part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s economic diversification agenda.” The Agency has also volunteered four fully equipped brand new Ambulances, four Hilux trucks and four 36 seater coaster buses to support and facilitate land based logistics in the Federal capital Territory, Lagos, Delta, Rivers, Cross River and Kaduna States.

Other medical equipment the Agency donated to enhance the fight against the COVID 19 in Nigeria include, 60 Beds, 20 Patient ICU Monitors, 20 Oxygen Concentrator, 10 Infusion pump, 10 Syringe pump, 20 Oxygen giving set, 10 Suction machine and 100 set of personal Protective Equipment PPE. “This is our little contribution to aid the robust efforts of the Federal and State governments to fight the virus. It is our token of love, concern for Nigerians and a gesture of appreciation to the authorities’ proactive measures in this collective fight against a common enemy,” Jamoh added

At all at all na em bad pass, at least 20 ventilators can safe 20 lifes and more.

If our government has harken to the voice of reason on time, most likely we will be less stress by now, but let forget about the blame games for now; so we can fight and win this battle together for the betterment of all.
In our own little ways, let avoid unnecessary movements and try to stay at home as much as we can.

In as much as I appreciate all these donations. Donating to directly to beneficiaries is the best approach.

I don't trust any donations in the hands of APC government.

Where is Jack Ma massive donation now. In Aso Rock I guess. These 20 ventilators will also end up in Also Rock

Nigerians, do not be fooled with these audio donations. these people remain the same crooks that they are. if they actually provided this, you will see evidence of these things in your local hospitals. nigerian bloggers are the hungriest in the world. they blog on anything. if at this time, you are not seeing these donated items and the effect of the money donated on the twitter or facebook pages of your friends, know that these things are not real. who reports all those cases of ritualists? your facebook friends. the videos go viral and can be corroborated by others.
NiMASA should be ashamed that at this time or utmost emergency, all that they can bring out is 50 million NAIRA not dollars. in today's exchange rate, that money is as little as 121,951 dollars. In new york, this is a single individual's annual salary for a medium-range job. Do not be fooled by these millions that you see. Any donation by a government agency or by a billionaire that is not up to or over a billion naira is useless in this case. it will not get to you that is what I mean. for example the 20 ventilators cannot be used on an average Nigerian when these greedy big men or their children are sick. for example these 20 ventilators by NIMASA will go to NIMASA hospitals. It will not go to local health centers.
Do not give NIMASA a single credit.
NIMASA is a government agency and they owe you billions of dollars. the full meaning of NIMASA is Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency. It is a federal government agency that has been milking you of your entitlements for decades. all those oil companies in nigeria pay dues to this agency. all the stolen oil pass through this agency. all the containers imported from china or all around the world and all the import pass through this agency . all the billions of dollars embezzled by the nigerian navy pass through this agency.
since the lagos border was closed, the gains of NIMASA has increased over 200%. the oil export is the biggest money engine of NIMASA
at this point you expect such an agency to give back billions in dollars. but imagine what a whole federal agency is giving you. I will be okay if they have been working prior to this, but they have been swallowing your money for decades. why not bring it out now to save lives of innocent nigerians? you life means nothing to these people.

nigerians do not be blind and feel grateful for crumbs. you are worth more than that.

an idiat comment on my post insulting me that I expose dangote and ALakija. I state that Dangote, the wealthiest man in Africa donate a stipend of 200 million NAIRA(not dollars) while Abdul Samad Rabiu who is worth 2.9 billion dollars donated 1 billion naira.

Alakija, the wealthiest woman in africa donated ordinary 35 million NAIRA (85,365 dollars the annual earning of an uneducated skilled laborer abroad) while Tuface donated 10 million.

Alakija owns the oil blocks that belong to you and me. the oil belongs to all. she is allowed to drill but in a time like this, you should demand what is called a "give back" from someone like Alakija. it is your right to demand that.
all those donations are useless. this is a time to start projects to build hospitals. do not accept any donations. ask them to use the money to build standard hospitals. china did it in ten days.

all those ventilators will not work in your hospitals, do not be fooled. the ventilators require electricity to function. the ventilators are going into their bedrooms. go to your health centers today and if you do not see any change there, then stop buying this nonsense these people pledge on audiotapes.
we have been fooled for too long and by now we should have sense.
SHAME ON YOU NIMASA. Shame! Greedy wolves.

Anybody supporting this dispensation is a heartless and greedy person. the first thing they do is attack anyone speaking up. see the way they come for me because I only stated facts. I did not insult anyone, I just stated facts but the vitriol that came afterward was fire. imagine standing face to face before such ones.

nigerians stop having the feeling of servitude. be bold and speak. only bold people survive in that country. ones you keep quiet, they will keep taking advantage of you. Nigerians are powerful online. dont stop. spill facts.

It only took a foreigner called imam of peace to drag your president to address nigerians. he is feeling the heat.

look at al the government websites, you cannot find a single fact and figure there.

for those nigerians calling these government agencies, pls record the calls and make money off blogs. record any calls made to politicians and government agencies and post it online. block your number and call.

for those clapping back, remember I am a stay-at-home right now with an insured full-package in a foreign country and I have 24/7 power with free WIFI. I treat nonsense bah-stad of their craze. we go clapback until our hands begin bleed. I ready for una attacks.

We keep on hearing big money being donated but we don't even know what this dullard government is doing with the money.
Dangote donated 200 million naira, Atiku donated 50 million naira. Now, nimasa has donated another 50 million naira. And there are still many other donors. Where are these monies?!

I'm sure the ventilators will be assigned to patients according to how influential they are and who they know.

Definitely. Some people will cash in on the outbreak.
We expect cases here to surge from this coming weekend. What's happening in Italy will be child's play if we aren't careful.

I live in the same house with a Doctor, who work in Frontline to combat COVID-19, believe me, we are far from ready, and I wonder where those money goes to.

The Doctor I stay with, with her crew are only concerned with COVID-19 patients (mostly returnees) and their contacts, why? No adequate equipment and staff for our large population.

This thing still be like film to me...

I have a question tho, how do we defeat this global phenomenon?

Are we waiting for some kind of cure from scientist/medic world etc?

Or the thing will go down on its own?

Or God?

Even in movies, one of the above will happen...

Monday, another shutdown

We are talking about lives, this fool is still playing party politics. If not for Sanwo-Olu in Lagos and Prof. Abayomi, Nigeria would have been overrun. They are the ones dictating the pace to the entire country.

As at when Sanwo-Olu shut down Alausa and markets in Lagos, Makinde the fool in Ibadan was busy dancing with Davido while Ikpeazu the bastard in Abia was busy drinking kerosene and telling them that Abia is in the Bible.

I think our problem is population

I think we are too many for us to handle?

200 million people shocked is too much for our infrastructure... Also a problem of lack of foresight from our leaders... But if you put Kenya or a 50-60 million people in Nigeria, the various facilities will be sufficient enough to sustain us...

Our total electricity megawatts is not enough to power 200 million people

Our stadias are small compared to other African nations...

We have big deficiencies
