We can't survive a month of lockdown. Less than 48hrs and people are already complaining and sneaking to open their shops.

The reason isn't because we lack resources to lockdown for a month or more but because we lack compassion, selflessness and empathy.

I'm sure if I offer a giveaway of 2k here, some people with 10k in their account will still ask. Many wealthy people aren't encouraged to do charity because they're almost certain that it will end up in the hands of some unneedy but greedy and discontented people.

When God has blessed you, please bless yourself and stop hustling peanuts with poor people. Please learn to be contented.

Let the little drops of charity get to the real peasants.
Thank u for this. A friend of my was begging people from Facebook put his name and account number out and this guy has a house and car and I knew he can't has less than a million in his account. Its in the blood of most of them. Greediness

My Oga you couldn't have said it any better. The other day, I think on Monday, a popular Facebook user called Mayegun was dolling out 5k for more than 100 people.

I was surprised to see someone I know very close posting her name and account number, begging for this hand out. Funny enough this person is worth more than 5million. She works in the bank. At least may be during some rainy day, this person wouldn't have nothing less than 500k in her deposit.

But there she was, begging amidst others that they need that 5k because they can't afford it. The simple truth, we lack contentment in this country. That's why you see someone steals more than what three of his/her generation can use.

Wuhan China, the originator of the current pandemic, was on lockdown for 2 months.

Now, Nigeria has copied the lockdown model of China, hoping for a similar success.

But can Nigerians survive more than 1 month of lockdown?

Can Nigerians hold on?
The lock down of a thing is really not working or effective in most places in Nigeria, the Czech model recommended by gov making should be the way to go,face mask should be distributed freely to all citizens and everyone must be made to wear them when going outside while the hygienic practice of regular hand washing with sanitizers is also encouraged, this will be a win win strategy.

Lockdown was eased off in Wuhan, Hubei region of China after two weeks of reporting no new cases. So expect the same sequence anywhere in the world including Nigeria.
If all of us obey and stay at home today, within 14 days there will be no new case in Nigeria.

It is responsible for a good government to provide essential needs of her citizens in a difficult time like we have. Ignoring consequences will lead to situation where frustrated individuals will take laws into their own hand and foment petty crime amidst of the turbulence.

Just two weeks would be enough. Although i pity those who get their daily bread daily of course. Govt should find a way to feed and provide for them. Identifying them should not really be a problem i guess
Within the two weeks, those infected will show symptoms and be isolated, then the spread will be limited to only family members who would be monitored and quarantined as well.

But the country is f****ed up angry every body wan do gra gra. Govt own dey their body citizens own dey their body. Just imagine warri

And those forming smart by saying lockdown is not the best,do well to proffer solutions talk is cheap. If wuhan wasn't on lock down. China would have been in_______ undecided

yeah, that's good news.

but do u think the figure we have now is the actual figure?
or don't u know that there are some infected people scattered around who are yet to be identified?

the thing is that people recovering does not mean that the thing is going or reducing. more people are infected and are yet to be announced.

wait before tonight if NCDC will not announce new cases.

until we have ZERO case of the virus and no new cases announced for at least a week, that we can say we are edging towards becoming free of the virus in this country.

I hail u, bro.

This lockdown might end up a bigger disaster than COVID itself.

People shouting "stay at home" have no idea what some people are passing through right now. Life is extra difficult for some people as I type this and more will join as days pass by.

I just hope the situation rearrange itself somehow; otherwise, by the time hunger and depression set in; the law enforcement agents may have to commit mass murder or allow people to chose their death.

One thing is certain, lockdown has its expiry date even in the most advanced countries; its just a matter of time.

I hope for the best.

its a dilemma, lockdown = hunger. And free movement = disaster / spreading d virus. The best option is lockdown while we should assist ourselves with food, I believe we have rich people/organizations that can feed the poor without much stress. That's what Malaysia is doing.

Nigerian government don't understand what lockdown entails. Nigeria is a nation where majority of the populace feed from hand to mouth, without the government giving a fvck.
In other countries government provides food and other necessities to citizens during lockdown. But in Nigeria, reverse is the case. In my opinion the highest we can is a week if not hunger go kill people.
its not just government, ignorance is with many people as well, many are going out as if there's nothing on the ground, even though many have what to eat for a month, they'll just say it's boring to be home.
