As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to the society, a multi purpose company, Olageospatial Global Investment Company (OGIC) has distributed food items and cash to residents of Ogun state.

The Chief Executive Officer of OGIC, Mr. Olajide Fashina said the gesture is to support the effort of the government in the fight against COVID-19.

Fashina explained that the food items and cash were given to the less privileged in the state.

He added that the donation is targeted at the old people, widows and the poor in the society where the company operates.

He explained that this gesture is part of the company's corporate social responsibility to the society.

According to him, the gesture is part of our corporate social responsibility to the society where we operate.

He further said, "life is not about what you get, but giving to the people that need it. We are encouraging everybody to be there for his or her neighbour.

"We need to continue to pray for the country so that we can get out of this.

"We gave foods items and cash for over 300 household in about 10 different locations in the state."

Speaking on how the food items and cash were distributed, the OGIC boss said, "we started from the places
where we work like where we have our office at Totoro. We gave the relief materials to the vulnerable and the less privileged in those areas.

"We also went to gateway mortgage bank to share, not for the bankers, but for the gateman, cleaners and other little staff that are not rich.

"We also went to tarmac whereby we gave the relief items to the low people and jobless.

"We targeted people within the area we operate. It just for the people we think cannot be able to buy a cup of rice. It is not political, we just want to do it as social responsibility."

The OGIC CEO however commended the government for being proactive in the lockdown of the state.

He added, "I think it is responsible from the part of the government for now for taking this action to save lives.

"It is only when you are alive that you can talk about the economy or what you want to do.

"This is an opportunity to rest and stay with people that are more important to them.

"I commend the state government, they have been very proactive. The governor has done a lot to ensure the people are prepare for this lockdown.

"Even in his last speech, he also gave room for people to transact within a period of time.

"I will advise the state government to use Lagos as a case study in carrying out the lockdown."
