wisdom is telling what to do and knowledge is for information only. the mode of operation is the same: vision, hearing, inward witness etc. experience is better than arguement.

Word of knowledge is when the holy spirit reveals a fragment of God's knowledge to you. It may be about a person, situation, or any other thing. It might be a vision, inward witness, or voice. For example, the holy spirit might reveal details about a person to you.

As for word of wisdom, it usually flows with word of knowledge. It's when the holy spirit gives supernatural wisdom concerning a situation. For example, you can know about the hidden challenges a person is experiencing by the spirit. The word of wisdom will offer a way out.

Do you mean the manifestation? If so, then yes. A dream can be a word of knowledge or wisdom

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN WORD OF KNOWLEDGE AND WORD OF WISDOM (1 CORINTHIANS 12)

1 Corinthians 12:8
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

From the scriptures word of wisdom and word of knowledge are part of the gift of the spirit as listed in 1 Corinthians 8-10, hence they are both endowment of the spirit (vs 3, 7 given), for the everyman in Christ (vs 3-4,7).

Some bible scholars have been able to put a category to the gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12 based on their functions, activities and operations. We can have 3 categories:

UTTERANCE GIFTS: Utterance gifts are gifts that deals with speaking. This is an ability of God in the recreated human Spirit that comes primarily via speaking. We have here:
- Tongues
- Interpretation of Tongues
- Prophecy

REVELATION GIFTS: The ability of God in the recreated human Spirit that deals with facts, mostly fragments of information about people, events, places or things.
Revelation gifts include:
- Word of Knowledge
- Word of Wisdom
- Discernment of Spirit

POWER GIFTS: Ability of God in the human spirit to do something. The word, “POWER” used severally in the bible, but they don’t all mean this same thing, but one thing is common to all form or application of “power”. It’s a display of ability to do something. The is classified as:
- Faith
- Gifts of Healing
- Working of Miracles

Now, though 1 Corinthians is a teaching on gift of the spirit, we have plethora examples and events that points to these gifts.

GIFT OF THE SPIRIT: WORD OF KNOWLEDGE

1 Corinthians 12:8: For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

The word “knowledge” here is taken from the Greek word, “gnosis”, which implies a fragment, a piece, a fragment of facts, information about things, places or people; it is not a complete knowledge.

It is an ability of God in the human spirit to have knowledge of things that are in the past in a fragment. It is not knowledge by feelings, but it is given by God through; inward revelation, prophecy, vision. NOTE, WORD OF KNOWLEDGE ALWAYS POINT TO FACTS IN THE PAST OR PRESENT, REVEALS THINGS IN THE PAST OR THAT HAS HAPPENED.

Examples of Word of Knowledge In The Scriptures:

Book of Genesis: The writing of book of Genesis itself is a revelation in group of word of knowledge, it reveals facts about people, events and things that had happened, usually not a detailed information.

In 2 Kings 5:25-26: Elisha, Gehazi and Naaman
25 But he went in and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither.
26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?

Here Elisha knew Gehazi deeds by knowledge how be it, revelation knowledge.

In Mark 5:30 Jesus asked, who touched his clothes, Jesus knew by word of knowledge that virtue had left Him.

In John 4:29 The Samaritan woman at the well, she says that Jesus told her all she ever did. Jesus spoke by word of knowledge to her revealing her past.

In Acts 5:1-10 Ananais and Saphira, Peter knew what happened by word of knowledge.

GIFT OF THE SPIRIT: WORD OF WISDOM

1 Corinthians 12:8 : 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
Word of Wisdom deals with facts, piece, fragment of wisdom. Unlike Word of knowledge that points to the past and present, Word of Wisdom points to the future. It is an ability of God in the human Spirit that produces facts, piece, fragment of wisdom of God revealing things to happen in the future

It is not a feeling neither is it a guess work, it is received not in the senses but via inward revelation, vision, prophecy.

Examples of Word of Wisdom In The Scriptures:

In Isaiah 9:6,7
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
This was a prophecy concerning Jesus.

In Joel 2:28 Promise of the Spirit upon all flesh, this did not happen until Jesus was glorified.

In Mark 11:14 Jesus spoke to the fig tree that no man eats of it hereafter forever.

In Acts 11:28 Agabus spoke of events of things to happen in the future concerning Paul.

Book of Revelation: Also, the writing of the book of Revelation is word of wisdom as it points to future events.

In conclusion,
The word of wisdom and word of knowledge are spiritual endowment received by the recreated human spirit, hence the word Gift. They are revelation gifts that reveals fragments of information, facts, piece about people, things, places or events. It can point to past or present events (word of knowledge) or points to future events (word of wisdom).

Thanks for this great and edifying discussion.
