Since 31 December 2019 and as of 09 April 2020, 1 476 819 cases of COVID-19 (in accordance with the applied case definitions and testing strategies in the affected countries) have been reported, including 87 816 deaths.

Cases have been reported from:

Africa: 11 447 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are South Africa (1 845), Algeria (1 572), Egypt (1 560), Morocco (1 275) and Cameroon (730).

Asia: 250 522 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are China (82 870), Iran (64 586), Turkey (38 226), South Korea (10 423) and Israel (9 404).

America: 497 200 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are United States (432 132), Canada (19 274), Brazil (15 927), Chile (5 546) and Ecuador (4 450).

Europe: 709 688 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are Spain (146 690), Italy (139 422), Germany (108 202), France (82 048) and United Kingdom (60 733).

Oceania: 7 266 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are Australia (6 052), New Zealand (992), Guam (125), French Polynesia (51) and New Caledonia (18).

Other: 696 cases have been reported from an international conveyance in Japan.

Deaths have been reported from:
Africa: 573 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are Algeria (205), Egypt (103), Morocco (93), Burkina Faso (23) and Tunisia (23).

Asia: 9 482 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are Iran (3 993), China (3 339), Turkey (812), Indonesia (240) and South Korea (204).

America: 17 082 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are United States (14 817), Brazil (800), Canada (435), Ecuador (242) and Mexico (174).

Europe: 60 615 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are Italy (17 669), Spain (14 555), France (10 869), United Kingdom (7 097) and Netherlands (2 248).

Oceania: 57 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are Australia (50), Guam (4), Northern Mariana Islands (2) and New Zealand (1).

Other: 7 deaths have been reported from an international conveyance in Japan.
