Recently, there appeared to have been an increase in the high rate of criticism against Pastors, particularly with the use of derogatory words.

Now, this may not be a surprise. After all, the devil, working in the children of darkness, did the same in the days of Jesus. He still does the same through unbelievers...

Ephesians 2:2
[2]Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Hence, the essence of this post isn't necessarily to force everyone to stop it. Several of those speaking and using derogatory words against Pastors online are only yielding themselves to the demons to discredit the things of God.

This is to warn those who hold the Bible in high esteem to desist from this devilish act. Here is what the Bible says about honouring Pastors...

Follow this

Numbers 12:1-2,4-6,9
[1]And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
[2] And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
[4]And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
[5]And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
[6]And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
[9]And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.

Note how God take accounts of how we speak when His annoinnted.

Note the words of Miriam and Aaron in verse 2. They felt "God speaks to us too, and not Moses alone... Nothing to honour about Moses..."

They seemed to have a point. Moses was their younger brother, after all.

Note God's response in verse 6. HE declares that He is the one who calls those who He calls. Not for anyone to judge.

He was angry against them for speaking against His annoinnted. Miriam became leprous as a result of the encounter.

Here is a word from King David:

2 Samuel 1:14
[14]And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD'S anointed?

This statement was made to a young man claimed he had killed Saul, the rejected king of Israel.

Note David's words in description of Saul, even though the same Saul had been rejected of God, and had even been after his (David) life, attempted to kill him several times.

Note, he called Him "The Lord's annoinnted" still. He didn't say: "after all, he is rejected, and has been after my life."

A lesson to learn from David here is that He chose not to be the one to condemn a man of God for his wrongs.

At previous occasions, when the rejected king Saul came seeking his life, he had a very clear chance to kill him (in self defense), but no. He said:

1 Samuel 24:6
[6]And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD'S anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.

On another occasion,

1 Samuel 26:9
[9]And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD'S anointed, and be guiltless?

Note this use of words. He actually speaks of harming the Lord's annoinnted. No man does that to go guiltless.

In other words, even if the pastor or MOG is guilty, you are not to speak against Him.

This, however, doesn't mean you can't correct a wrong. Yet, if it regards a pastor, or MOG, do so with some honour.

How was this taught in the new testament.

Jesus capped it all:

Matthew 10:41
[41]He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward...

How do you receive a Prophet IN THE NAME OF A PROPHET?

By simply honouring and esteeming him...

Paul echoes this:

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13
[12]And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
[13]And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

Note the words: "esteem them VERY HIGHLY."

Whether or not you are a member of a pastor, as long as you are a Christian, choose to esteem Pastors and MOGs VERY HIGHLY.

This may not mean these MOGs are always right. However, it means even if you have to correct the wrongs they say, do so with much honour.

The use of derogatory words is totally evil. Note God's response to Miriam and Aaron who spoke against Moses.

Note how David honoured and highly esteemed an obviously rejected and erring Saul.

Happy Easter!

Yet, you spend your time on religious threads. Why are you feeling so unsafe? grin

Actually, you really didn't need to make such comment on a thread like this. You are derailing it. It's not proper.

I have every reason to be unsafe, we need to reduce the number of people who believe that we are all here because a snake scammed two adults. That kinda thinking is not good for my children and for future humans.
Anyways, all the fairytales are becoming less believable with time and advancement in science. It’s just a matter of time...

Wish it can get to the front page.

This message is very timely!

If you are a Christian never join pagans to insult pastors, they have their reward you don't have to partake in it.

When I read this scripture some years ago I had to correct myself! It's better to keep your mouth shut than to insult or criticize a man of God.

It is of no consequence if the pastor is right or wrong, the anointing will surely speak against you if you open your mouth to criticize!

1 Samuel 24:6
[And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD'S anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.

My dear, no need to argue with such people. It only makes you lose your mind and want to say things you ought not to say.

Such people needs a personal encounter with Jesus for a better conviction that will make them become better preachers of the "unverified stories".

Cheers.

"Touch not my annointed, and do my prophet no harm"... Now we must be careful because we don't know who is a true prophet! So it's better not to insult a pastor

You need to read and digest the message in the op of this thread.

first you make the assumption of believing I think pastor Chris is a true man of God.

The Bible itself says in Matthew 7: 21-23 that many false prophets will arise in the last days and claim to be true men of God but are not.

Pastor Chris like TB Joshua is a laughing stock in Nigeria today. Only SOME of their members still blindly believe their lying double tongue.

Read the Bible and see how spot on Jesus Christ was with his answers and replies, his opposers were always amazed at his wisdom and not like your God of men angry

OP the question is HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY ARE ACTUALLY MEN OF GOD?

Any scallywag can go acquire powers from marine and then out on suit and be prophesying, leading souls to hell in the process.

Who are the men of God in Nigeria? Some Wii way only Pentecostal pastors are real. White garment will say they are the real prophets of God. Catholic and Anglican will say Peter is the first pope and all these daddy GOs are but business men and motivational speakers.

With these complexities, how so you know?

Let me paint you a scenario.

When any smart person goes for an interview in a high-paying company - the moment he/she enters the company's property, he'll respect everyone he meets (even the gate man).

Why is that? Everyone in that company is a suspect. He is, most likely, being examined. The managing director is probably disguised as a cleaner. Who knows?

If anyone is called a minister of Jesus Christ, with Christians following Him and regarding him as their pastor, it is best to honour Him.

Whether or not you feel he is fake should not impede your sense of honour. To be on the safe side, honour all pastors.

You could be blatantly wrong to assume that someone isn't called by God. Making such statements ooze insubordination and lack of respect for God's Word.

We should be willing to yield to God's Word.

Do well to go through the post again. This time, more patiently.

Regards.

Don't quote me again in stupidity. If you want to call him a GOD of man, your business! I can't be made to honour a fake man of God, a worthless trash in spirituality, leading millions of gullible followers to destruction.

Please hold your belief, while I exercise mine
