IgbereTV reports that a Nigerian man took to social media to narrate his ugly experience with the men of the Nigeria police force in Anambra State during which his tyres where shot at while he was on his way to the bank to withdraw money for food for his family amid the lockdown over Coronavirus in Nigeria.

According to the man who identified himself as Muokwe Henry Jones, it all started when he refused to pay bribe, as was required of him by the policemen.

He said that one of the policemen also threatened to kill him thereafter, Muokwe disclosed that he pleaded with the police officers to allow him withdraw some money to take care of his family but the security operatives insisted that he must settle them before his car tyres were shot.

IgbereTV recalls the fact that Nigeria Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, and the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, had in a joint statement, in the first week of the initial lockdown order, announced that ATMs, e-payment platforms will be functional during lockdown.

The statement read, β€œTo ensure that Nigerians can still perform online transactions and use ATMs whilst observing these restrictions, we will like to inform the general public and all affected stakeholders that we have obtained exemptions from the President to allow very skeletal operations in the Financial System and Money Markets in order to keep the system in light operations during this time.

Hmmmm I hope after this pandemic is over, all the innocent lives lost can be brought back to life?

It's quite shameful and embarrassing that trained officers who are to protect could just shoot at civilians who bears no arm.

These killings will definitely come to an end soon.

At this stage I think it is advisable for anyone from East and in fact from the entire southern States to abide by the law because it seems the police have order from somewhere to even shoot when necessary... it is unfortunate but it looks like that
