Firstly, this is just my opinion, and I'm not in any way trying to dictate what people should do with their money..
It is no news that a lot of organisations and individuals have stood up to help nigeria in these trying times by donating cash to the government..
As at 2nd april, the CBN said it has received a total of N15,325 billion
Now,donating money is one thing, how this money is going to get spent in a country like nigeria is another thing
Do you remember when we were very young, then an uncle comes visiting and while leaving,he gives your father #20 to "buy biscuits for the children"?
Well,I'm sure you know that you ain't gat no biscuit. tongue
Now compare that to when the uncle actually decides to buy the biscuits and share for the children himself grin grin
This is what 15 billion can do for 2 million Nigerians
4 CONGO OF RICE @ #800/ = #3,200
3 CONGO OF BEANS @ #400/ = #1,200
4 CONGO OF GARRI @ #250/ = #1,000
10 SACHET TOMATOES @#50 = # 500
2 BOTTLES OF G/OIL @450 =#900
2 BOTTLES OF RED OIL @300 =#600
SACHET OF MAGGI @100 =#100
TOTAL =#7,500
Now contrary to popular belief, distributing these items is not rocket science
An account could easily be set up,and a committee to overlook the distribution of the items can be put in place
The various banks in itself can be used as distribution centers,
and we wont need to worry about overcrowding since the BVN will be used, and each person will just have to wait for an invitation
The list of food items up there might look soo small, but sincerely speaking, it can't be compared to the fact that the money might as well be mismanaged or looted by a selected few
Now if N15 billion could feed 2 million Nigerians like this, imagine what
(1)$723 million (N265,341 billion) returned abacha loot which was mostly unaccounted for in 2006,could do
(2)$400 billion (N147 trillion) looted by politicians from independence to 2012
(3)N1.3 trillion looted by politicians under Jonathan
(4)the amount currently been looted under buhari

#NoTime. This country is every man to himself. Let the poor fend for themselves.

This Covid-19 lockdown period is revealing to people around the world how useful or useless their governments are at handling emergencies. We can see if interplanetary aliens decimated earth which populace will die off and which others will help each other survive long enough to fight back.

This country is about crash-landing and the prices of those things you qouted are way higher now. Just within 2 years, inflation has done more damage. It's sad and also pathetic.
