The testing rate has increased in the last 2days. Hence, the reason for the large numbers. |

Definitely we have much more cases of infection than be confirmed. Just as if NCDC is testing on a small fraction of people infected. Since February 28, 2020 that the first person was tested and confirmed infected till 13th of April, 2020 Nigeria only tested 5000 patients and we were able to confirm 323 cases. www.nairaland.com/attachments/11378921_47fb42152e95469497022747f684ffe1_jpeg_jpeg0b7b31c1c63fce4a997ef37ccb9f7a56 Today, we have been able to make about 2157 tests after the 5000tests done on Monday. This means the rate of testing has soared, the reason why we have been having higher values and figures in the last 2days. The point is that this virus is very much among us, far more than we think. |

On that day Buhari extended the lockdown, he mentioned that we now have a capacity to test upto 1500 daily. At that time, report had it that we have tested 5000, so why aren't we matching the daily 1500 testing capacity? We should be more 7k by now 1 Like |

This 7153 samples tested so far is not clear. Are they referring to testing 7153 samples or 7153 individuals. For example an individual can test positive and then get tested again after treatment of symptoms and test negative. That indicates that two samples will be collected from the same individual. In other words that's two sample tests but one individual. The main question now is can the NCDC confirm that the 7153 tests refers to 7153 individuals and not samples ? And if the 7153 tests refers to samples not individuals can they at least release the figures for numbers of individuals they have actually tested? Sissy3, Dominique 1 Like |
