this has been lingering for long on twitter claiming nairaland is actually more toxic. so i brought it here to get your opinions.

Nah. It's such a broad comparison. There are still a lot of intellectuals on Nairaland, only that they tend to stay in the shadows nowadays. And rightfully so, because trolls have overrun this space.

I would say twitter is more toxic but also have so many matured minds. The problem with Nairaland is that it is filled with so many immature people/ minors.

The truth is that unintelligent people who are thugs and miscreants in real life, come to nairaland to pour out their frustration on innocents Nigerians.

If by toxic you mean the utterly intolerant of any religion, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own; the total disregard and disrespect for other people's tribe; the abuses and insults thrown, and apathy shown, whenever a worried soul attempts to bare their mind and genuinely seeks councel, then Nairaland is the most toxic.

Indeed, given the foregoing, it is the most toxic site on the web.

And the tragedy is that the moderators seemingly feed off the toxicness, hence, nothing is done to attenuate it.

Nairaland is the microcosm of Nigeria - a very toxic place.
