One of the sweet outcomes of being productive in life is the goodness it brings out of us. It truly reflects the hadeeth where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him said): “There’s still khair (goodness) in my Ummah till the Day of Judgement” which makes you admire and love our beautiful Ummah.

People complain about us a lot… we complain about our Ummah a lot, but there’s so much khair in this Ummah and here are just examples:

When an old man holds a date in his hand, just the one date he has and shares it with his fasting brethren, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When young men stand at traffic lights in Muslim countries to deliver iftaar to those stuck in traffic, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When an orphan sponsorship gets booked out, or an entire building gets built as a trust for the sake of serving the poor and orphans, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When people remind each other of Allah, and they stop short of committing a sin or transgressing on others, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When 1.5 billion Muslims around the world, discipline themselves in the most incredible manner with their fasting, prayers, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When young children memorize the Quran and are keen to remember the words of Allah and compete in doing so, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When elderly parents are taken care of by their children instead of being thrown in a nursing home, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When Muslims stop everything they do, 5 times a day, just to pray, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When our sisters’ sacrifice exposing their beauty solely for the sake of Allah and cover themselves with hijab, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When tears fall upon the worshippers eyes and you hear the cries of men, women and children asking Allah to forgive them, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When we help each, say salam to each other, hug each other, even though we may not know one another, we know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When we’re moved by an Islamic cause, driven by a vision to serve Allah, and passionately put our heart and mind to it, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When we love each other for the sake of Allah, and visit each other for the sake of Allah, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When we respect our scholars, make dua for our imams, and humbly learn at their feet, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

When we’re moved to tears as we hear about our Prophet and we truly miss him and wish he was amongst us today, you know there’s still khair in this Ummah.

I must stop here, I can’t continue… but after this, can you ever doubt that there’s still khair in the Ummah?

Salam

Wa alaikumussalaam,

Jazakumullahu Khairan bro. Yes indeed, there still is goodness in the Ummah. After all we belong to the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad (saw), there will be always barkha on us. Insha Allah we all shall reconcile in Jannat.

One man named Mr Younus Madolla from Mauritius sent 21k to the poor in Nigeria in year 2009. He did this after his coming to Nigeria on business trip. Alhamdulilah, Allah granted him last pilgrimage with his family. There is still khair in the hummah though most those that are obliged to do are sleeping, some ignore it while other don't know its importance. This reminds me a question that a lecturer asked yesterday. He asked the listeners 'how many sick did u visit last month?' Everybod was looking and most scholars agree that is sunatul-mu'aqada. Salam

You know there is still goodness in the Ummah when people save for 70 years so that they can go to hajj

Kashmiri couple describes the 70-year wait Muhammad and Saafya from Kashmir have had before performing Haj because they simply couldn't afford to. They spent the last 70 years of their life saving money for the journey of the lifetime (They are in their 90s now). They put their savings inside a red box that had come to be known among their relatives and friends as the box of lifetime journey. Saafiya said she and her husband did not have any children and they have lived alone. When her husband, Muhammad, proposed to her and she agreed, he promised her, 70 years ago, that he would take her to Haj. Ever since, The husband and his wife kept working to raise the money. They both said they were ready to wait for another 70 years, if Allah prolonged their life, to raise the money to visit Makkah for another Hajj

You know there's goodness in the Ummah when a 50 year old Syrian Anesthesiologist who has already memorized 10 ajzaa' comes into the afterschool Qur'an Academy every day for 2 hours to become a Hafith.

SubhanAllah!!
