Credibility Of A Food Judge In A Food Competition by deepfreeze(m): 4:35pm On Apr 25, 2020
A very good afternoon @ all NLs.

As a result of the Covud-19 induced lockdown, my siblings and I have been having lots and loads of discussion.

So we stumbled into one yesterday, and it bothers on the "CREDIBILITY of how food judge(s) in a food competition are truly able to ASCERTAIN how each participants food tastes, after having tasted the food of the first participant".

I was of the opinion that its not feasible for a judge to TRULY ascertain how the other participant's food tasted , because the judge must have some sort of after-taste effect on his/her tongue, which therefore could affect his/her taste-bud for some period of time.

Would like to have you guys opinion on the said topic.

Pardon my typos .

.

There are people with great taste bud..myself inclusive ..

We can always pick out variety of spices of flavours from food even with a blind man test ( blindfolding people to taste food and give their opinion .)

The taste from other foods won't affect ur decision ..

Now for TV this might happen as well

The judges may taste the food taking their time and drinking water before the next plate but because it's tv the part gets edited out ..

@ The Last Paragraph, what if the said food contains spice like "Ginger , Garlic" which are well know to have stubborn lasting effect on the taste bud.
