Pornography is recorded in the Bible. It's a subject that most pastors and Sunday school teachers don't have much insight into.

In 2007, I was preparing to speak at a student's conference on the topic. I wrestled in the place of prayer for days and studying for insights into the dynamics of pornography. One of the days, the Holy Spirit showed me this Bible verse in a vision. As I opened my Bible, my eyes were opened to the mystery and mission of pornography.

I will only drop a few nuggets but let's look at the Bible verse where I saw Porn in action.

Ezekiel 23:14-18 (CEV)
14 But Oholibah behaved worse than her sister. Oholibah saw images of Babylonian men carved into walls and painted red.

15 They had belts around their waists and large turbans on their heads, and they reminded her of Babylonian cavalry officers.

16 As soon as she looked at them, she wanted to have sex with them. And so, she sent messengers to bring them to her.

17 Men from Babylonia. came and had sex with her so many times that she got disgusted with them.

18 She let everyone see her naked body and didn’t care if they knew she was a prostitute. That’s why I turned my back on her, just as I had done with her older sister.

LET'S FORGET THE PARABLE OF THE TWO SISTERS AND GET A HIGH-DEFINITION OF PORNOGRAPHY FROM THE PASSAGE:

• SHE SAW THE IMAGES ON THE WALL. The Good news translation says that she was ATTRACTED BY THE IMAGES.

Pornography is images that stimulate sexual lust. Paintings, pictures, and videos are images.

She SAW. She looked at or watched the images. The eyes are the doorway to sexual lust. Jesus said that he that lustfully LOOKS at a woman commits the sin of adultery.

When your heart begins to think sex, your eyes start looking for it and in the process of looking/watching, your body will send signals to your sex mate. Your sex mate could be a intimacy gadget or sex boy or girl.

• HER EYES WENT STRAIGHT TO THE WAIST REGION OF THE MEN AND IT REMINDED HER SOMETHING. She was fascinated with their bananas �. Pornography is a dirty reminder. When your mind is consumed with pornographic thoughts, that's when you remember an EX who used to ride and rock you and you feel tempted to see them.

• WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU SEEK.
As she looked at the images, her body changed and she started feeling Hot. That's what pornography does to you. Most people who can't control their sexual urges are always seeing pornographic images. She went as far as sending messages. That's the sequence from SIGHTING TO SEXTING.

• THE END OF PORNOGRAPHY IS SEX
AND OFTEN FOLLOWED BY REGRETS.
I have never seen any PORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN who never regretted ever watching porn. The Spirit of God in you will prick your heart. In the case of this lady, after having sex with the Babylonian men, she HATED THEM AND HATED HERSELF.

That's the only thing you gain from pornography - HATING YOURSELF AND LIVING AN EMPTY LIFE THAT'S FULL OF STINKING IMMORALITY.

But wait a minute...

DAVID ALSO WATCHED PORN ON HD WHEN HE SAW BATHSHEBA TAKING HER BATH. 2 Samuel 11:2 (ISV), says, "Late one afternoon about dusk, David got up from his couch and was walking around on the roof of the royal palace. From there he watched a woman taking a bath, and she was very beautiful to look at."

• As you read down, you will notice that as David watched her bathing, he called his messengers to go and fetch her. That was the same pattern in the book of Ezekiel 23.

• Even when he was told that she was another man's wife, the picture of lust blocked his reasoning.

• One of the dangers of pornography is that it distorts your reasoning and mental faculty.

Bottom line: IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE #ACTIVATED, DON'T BE #CAPTIVATED. WHATEVER IMAGES THAT #CAPTIVATE YOU ENDS UP MAKING YOU A #CAPTIVE.

BIBLICAL PRESCRIPTION TO OVERCOMING PORNOGRAPHIC ADDICTION:

• PURIFY YOUR MIND DAILY WITH GOD'S WORD - Psalm 119:9 (NIV) says, "How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word."

• WATCH YOUR THOUGHTS AND GUARD YOUR HEART - Proverb 4:23 ▶"Carefully guard your thoughts because they are the source of true life."
• WATCH THE THINGS YOU WATCH. YOUR EYES CAN SET YOUR BODY ON FIRE. Job 31:1 says, "I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman." Matthew 6:22 ▶“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.
