Mother of set of twins abducted in Oyo, weeps as she appeals to their abductors to release them

On Saturday April 25th, gunmen stormed the home of a popular cleric, Sheik Taofeeq Akeugbagold and abducted his set of twins from his home in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The police say they have since commenced investigation and hope to rescue the twins alive and arrest those behind the abduction.

In a video posted online, their distraught mum who couldn't hold back tears, said she waited for 12 years before she welcomed her babies. She pleaded with the abductors to have mercy on her and release her children to her.

Speaking in Yoruba, she said the abductors should please think about her and release her children. She also mentioned that her husband is ready to give them whatever they want. She appealed to all Nigerians to pray for the safe return of her children.

Just imagine the trauma she is going through

It will take years for her to get over the PTSD that will come as a result of this experience.

Nigeria is not a safe place to live or even raise children

Our lives are at risk every single minute we step out of the house

Even at home armed robbers and kidnappers will not allow you sleep in peace.

I am so sorry madam, your children will come back safe

Nigeria is not safe.
