Read well then check 2013 for us.

I see it's a 2013 you bought in 2019. That's closer to buying a 2014 model in 2020.

4.5m isn't ridiculous, I'd say. For a clean title car. An auction car shouldn't t have been more than 3.8-4m.

Okay that's funny anyways.
I am happy and satisfied, that is all that matters.
We don't buy nor sell lemons here anyways.
Thank you by the way.

Comes out to right about 4m, no? Clean title, albeit with an accident in its history.

Fact is, anyone who buys a 2012 Camry for 4.5m in 2020 has gotten a pretty poor deal. That's ES350 money.
what's in that picture is not an XLE. It's not a clean title. You will pay dealer taxes. You will ship. You will pay custom duty. XLEs are way more sort after and more expensive.

Fair enough. Don't know the exterior differences between an XLE and other trim levels of that Camry generation, just sorted it like that on the website.

In any case, we've agreed that 4.5m isn't a bad deal for a clean title unit.

Namaste.

you just don't have the experience. Leave it. There are different grades of auction cars. I bought an accidented 2013 camry XLE from copart in 2018 at $6k excluding fees. Mileage was 53k. Car was impeccably clean. No deployed airbag. The amount you buy a car is determined by the state of that car. Yes you can get for 3.8m, an XLE that is terribly damaged.
You see Toyota products, Nigerians have bastardised it at auctions. Even the most useless corolla, Camry and highlander go for exorbitant prices. Our G boys have also not helped. They use these purchases to launder money

Fair enough. I'm not a fan of Toyotas, tbh. Very overpriced on auctions. Surprisingly, German cars seem to be more appropriately priced there.

For auctioned vehicles, this is not necessarily true. Sometimes you get a good deal at a ridiculous price, other times you get burnt cheesy

With a little bit of luck, you can bring in a mildly damaged, all airbags intact 2013 xle for 3.8 or less

Whatever gives you the satisfaction you desire is appreciated.
2012 SE was 5.2M in 2018 and it already depreciated to 10 naira in 2019 which was when I bought mine.??
Even with the obvious difference, you are a joke.

YOURS - MINE

5.2M - 4.5M
2012 model - 2013 model
SE - XLE
Damaged- Accident free.

exactly. Nigerians are obsessed with Toyota. G boys will buy at any amount. Ridiculously high amount. Move the cars to Nigeria and sell way below their cost price just to get their illicit funds. So, we the legitimate ones find it difficult competing if you want to buy averagely clean run and drive vehicles without deployed airbags.

you say luck. Bro, that will not be a run and drive. You may be lucky it comes in and the fault is as little as a fuse. If you are buying mildly accidented, run and drive with no deployed airbag and moderate mileage, that figure is not possible. Quote me anywhere

Honestly custom duty is killing us in this country. Sometimes you pay almost the cost of purchase or even more as custom duty.

Okay, I agree with the mileage part.

I noticed this while trying to buy an RX330 for a colleague. Anything below 100,000 miles, just forget it grin People are ready to bid as high as 6500 bucks for a 2004 vehicle. It was ridiculous.

Chukel biko, like how much would it cost to move an XLE from US down to Lagos??

depends on the port. From $900 to $1150 shipping alone. Trucking is another matter.

Now it's all clear..
Over $11,000 gone already minus other expenses as you said. Minus dealer's expected profit too, and they will come here to claim XLE is 10 naira.

With all due respect, you can't be talking 2018 purchase in 2020. Yes, the amount you buy a car is determined by its state for sure, reason we use words like 'good', 'average'. Have you joined auction lately, $6k can even get a good 2017/2018 as things are right now. I won't want to bombard here with auction receipts.

Hi.

I had to check the meaning of 'joke' in my dictionary and I found out some unfriendly meanings.
I seriously didn't mean the insulting meaning of it, I always thought it meant someone acting funny.
I am sorry I chose the wrong word. smiley

and exchange rate has remained the same? Custom duty has remained same? In 2018 I was shipping with $800/850. Trucking was cheaper.
