Biafran Soldier
I hate to post in your inflaming propaganda thread.  I think you're just trying to make trouble.  And I've never contributed to any anti-Igbo rhetoric, so don't even go there.

I am responding because I am very concerned about the authenticity of the picture in the above-referenced post.  I can't repost it for some resson.

Are you very sure that picture is of a Biafran soldier?

If you have a problem with the authenticity of a picture. Just show me the picture in question.

And I am not into "propaganda" threads, I am into historical and cultural threads. Just look at the Culture section of Nairaland. I post pictures of various groups within Nigeria.

It could possibly be a Nigerian soldier. If you find another source that says otherwise, then I shall change it. I do not wish to make any factual errors.

Yes, it is a picture of a Nigerian soldier! Not just any soldier! It is a picture of the Black Scorpion himself, Benjamin Adekunle.

From where did you lift that image?

Who the hell are you, man? You can't tell Adekunle apart from a Biafran soldier?!

Poor man.  I wonder what became of him.  I am sure he was captured unclothed.  The depth of depravity to which many Biafrans descended during the civil war was uncanny.  To parade a captured soldier unclothed and take his picture unclothed for International propaganda is abuse of the highest order.  AFter all he was just a soldier under orders.

Out of all the pictures I posted, you are worried about a captured soldier? I already know where you mind lies so please leave me alone and carry on with your foolishness you tribalist.

What about the innocent children?

Let me continue with my posting of the pictures.

even responses on this board remain heavily ethnically biased.  did innocent non-igbos not die, lose limbs and properties during this war?  were all non-igbo fighters calumnous while all igbo soldiers were noble and doing the right thing?  many who fought on the federal side, including my father, were not fighting the igbos; they were fighting a break-away entity which they honestly believed should not secede.  every nation opposes secession.  if biafra had succeeded and the urobos or other non-igbos in biafra had subsequently attempted to secede they would have fought them too.  there were no heroes or villains of the biafran war.  just another epoch in the history of a nation like many other nations.  please stop glorifying biafra just for the sake of it and villifying the federation just for the sake of it.

Pathetic ignorance.I do not blame you but the education system in this country.you do not even know the history of your country.

Its poignant to note that Ojukwu must have seen all these pics (most esp. the ones showing igbo kids with kwasokor) and yet persist with war. Even utilising these pics as a bargaining chip to request "Landing fees" (and more arms support) from relief agencies (and France) who were trying to feed his dying population.

These landing fees facilitated ojukwu's continuation of the war.

I can't help but wonder though, how many innocent igbo kids could have been saved had Ojukwu capitulated half-way through the war? Probably in the 6 figures! Only for him to sneak away like a thief in the nite in search of the same "peaceful solution", he vehemently refused prior to his declaration of biafra.

I can only hope that whilst convalescing on his sick bed in london, Ojukwu had time to peruse these pics, all over again.  . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I always ask why PEOPLE are against IGBOS so, I have not yet to see why. I am thinking Jealousy and feeling of inferiority.

The same thing happened with Holocaust, Dafur, and Rwanda. Genocide will never die until the world rebirth itself again.
