Mubarak Bala, the well-known atheist arrested in Kaduna State for insulting Prophet Muhammed by describing him as a terrorist, equally has a history of mocking prominent Nigerian clergyman TB Joshua.

Many Nigerians woke on Wednesday morning to find #FreeMubarakBala trending on Twitter in Nigeria, spurred by the arrest of President of Humanist Association of Nigeria, Mubarak Bala, over his social media post comparing Prophet Muhammed to TB Joshua of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN).

However, it can be revealed that hours before his arrest, the prominent atheist also posted a picture mocking the visit of The SCOAN Founder to a ‘prayer mountain’ for prayers against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bala posted a photoshopped image of Joshua in prayers on his Facebook Page with a scantily dressed lady standing beside him, suggesting she was “satan’s wife” who was “tempting the man of God”.

The day earlier, he shared another taunting post, insinuating Joshua’s visit was merely orchestrated for the purpose of taking photographs.

Bala’s arrest has sparked a deluge of reactions on Twitter, with some Nigerians describing his detention as unlawful and others stating the outspoken atheist was getting what he deserved for making such provocative posts.

In 2014, then 29-year-old Bala was said to have been forcefully committed by his family to a psychiatric hospital in Kano when he renounced Islam.

Though Bala’s family believed he was insane, he was later discharged from the psychiatric hospital after his mental stability was medically confirmed.

Bala has a history of making defamatory statements regarding Islam and other religions, particularly drawing the ire of Islamic fundamentalists in Northern Nigeria.

There are different ways of dealing with strange people. Possibly he is the scantily dressed lady. The height of his radicalism is really extreme if he actually posted such a picture with a man of God on the mountain praying to his God. Possibly the madness is back and they are trying to format his brain. I pray he learns his lesson on time before it becomes too late for him.

Lame attempt by islamist and sharia advocates to justify the arrest of Mubarak. How many people were arrested for producing movies like ''DaVinci Code''? A blasphemous movie against the body of Christ? None!!
The difference between peaceful and violent followers is miles apart there can't be any debate about it. Even Athiest themsleves can distinguish between the peaceful ones and the non-peaceful ones. Afterall, Mubarak himself was threatened with death and thrown into a mental hospital for denouncing islam.

NOTE; Though the pathetic arrest of Mubarrak is condemnable, I'm happy it happened. This here will afford Nigerians and the world at large the opportunity to see buhari's regime in it's true form - AN ISLAMIC REGIME.
Remember, buhari swore to fight for total implemetation of Sharia all over Nigeria back in 2001. Now that he's the president, the islamic bigot has not only pursued islamic agenda against the rest of non muslims in Nigeria, he has elevated Sharia law above the constitution, no thanks to his illegal appointment of Sharia Lawyer as CJN.
If some of you here are still doubting the elevation of sharia law in Nigeria, consider this; Is the arrest of Mubarak, the humanist on grounds of ''Blasphemy'' not an indication that buhari's islamic regime has made Sharia superior to Nigeria's constitution? Which one is Blasphemy? The only law that has Blasphemy law in it is Islam's Sharia law, and muslims especially northern muslims regards Sharia law above Nigeria's constitution.
Truth is the rest of Nigeria have NOTHING IN COMMON with Northern muslims. They're nothing but a bunch of islamic terrorist fundamentalist no different from Abubabar Shekau of Boko haram. These are the same bunch that will LIE TO YOUR FACE that boko haram terrorist are not muslims but won't hessitate for a SECOND to grant AMNESTY to terrorist murderers killing in the name of Islam, while they ARREST AND KILL those who dare criticize their religion islam.
The earlier Nigerians move towards total disintergration of Nigeria the better for all of us. Let northern arewa go their seperate ways and practice their total sharia since they value it more than human lives.

They should leave the Mubarak alone and stop the nonsense. He did nothing wrong as far as our laws are concerned so I don’t get the basis for arresting him. All those hypocritical religious vultures baying for his blood should go and calm down. Nothing must happen to him.

He committed no crime for his opinion against Muhammad, he didn't kill Mrs Bridget Agbahime in Kano that was killed by Muslims for stopping one of them from doing ablution in front of her shop, even the senile religious bigot and extremist in aso rock supported the Muslims, nor did he Mrs Eunice Olawale in Abuja which was killed by entire mosque that included imam,women and children, non of the killer of these two people have been prosecuted.

While I agree with you on Mubarak doing nothing wrong by attacking religion, he needs to be more discreet. He's a friend and classmate of mine from our Ahmadu Bello days 15 years ago so I know him better than most people and the road he travelled to reach this point.

I agree he should be more descreet and needs to respect other people’s beliefs. Personally, I will rather criticize the faith I was born into than publicly ridicule other faiths that I have never subscribed to.

Arresting him or even demanding that he be beheaded is illegal and not acceptable in a multi religious and democratic country like Nigeria.
