Hi great felas. I hav 500gb Maxtor ext sata Hdd wt both usb & firewire connecting ports: dis I've bn using wt my pc loaded wt windows xp. D hdd has bn my major back up.

I suddenly discovered dat my PC does not recognise it again. I was later advised by a friend who is a bit more knowledgeable dat I shd 'dismantle' it & convert it to int. Hdd, dat most pc board has additional sata slot & power pack too has extra wire 2 connect up d hdd. I agreed. But to my surprise, my Gigabyte board of 2.8ghz being IDE does not hav any spare Sata port/slot (all being IDE neither does d ATX power pack hav any additional cable for connection.

Pls what can i do cos I hav great old data in dis hdd.? Pls dis is urgent sirs.
