I'm a student,just 20 years old. During the lockdown, I actually thought on what kind of business I should venture into and luckily for me,a nice business idea struck my brain. I have a little knowledge on how to bake cupcakes, and I have decided to add more knowledge... .so I can bake nicely and sell to the students.

But I have a problem. I'm shy,an introverted, and also I don't have enough time to be moving around classes to sell. So I thought on going online.

I .e,advertising my cake by chatting them up privately,(we actually have a WhatsApp group chat for the students in my faculty, so I have access to their numbers), making it known to them that I can deliver the cake to them in their classes if they order for it.

So is it a nice idea?

I will suggest you introduce it to them personally i.e personal selling...u are just starting afresh...going online isn't welcomed right now buh probably later in the future when your product has gone viral Nd well know to your target market.....u can as well make use of the two at the same time.

NB:if u are really ready for this particular business of urs... kindly do away with shyness.

All good venture eventually work out fine, if you're skillful, patient and self-motivated to drive thru to breakthrough.

It's true that as an introvert it may be really hard trying to build up a rapport with people easily and introduce your products...so you may want to hide behind the internet (Lol.. Trust me I'm just as introverted too).

You can try to look for cheap but good packaging mediums that will make your product physically appealing (it reduces your need to convince your target market). And also, make sure you're really good in making the cup cakes... And make it unique too... Variety is the spice of life.

You can approach small shops that sell snacks and provision and offer for them to help you sell (i.e Sell it at #100 and give you #80).

You can print some flyers around school also offering your services (birthday parties, et al).....share on your WhatsApp status and student groups too

Word of mouth with your most comfortable circle of friends (But be careful so they don't discourage you)...... the idea is to build a little base that may earn your product referrals as you go on....

Learn to use Facebook and Instagram ads. It's very hot right now for food products. Don't be begging for customers around like a zombie.

yes nice idea but you are a student, will you have the time?
wont it affect your classes?
will the cakes be regular?
how many people will want to buy your cakes?
your main customers would ladies because they fancy those kind of things not for guys tho
students are mostly bucks up when they resumes school, by that they can afford to buy stuffs like that
but when it get to the third week of resumption most students would be kinda broke so how would you
handle this situation?
can you bake cakes everyday while in school?
how many cup cakes will you bake in a day?
check around around school and look for shop that sells stuff, it might be better if you sell it directly to them or they help you sell your stuff.
and lastly dont expect same people to be buying cakes from you every day....
