Government Secondary School Gurku, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa was agog with people from in and around the community to see for their eyes a young man of about 30 years of aged who isolated himself in one of the classes in the school and hanged himself to dead.
The young man named James Samuel, an origin of Benue State was observed to have committed the suicide yesterday night and was seen hanged in the earlier hour of today.
Immediately the case was discovered by one of the residents of the area, who is also a police officer, serving in Abuja, quickly reported the matter to the Gurku out station.
The late James Samuel took himself along with two hard copies pictures of himself at young and of his mother to the scene of the suicide but no any written document seen there that would probably informed the public on why he decided to take such action.
After the arrival of the police to the scene of the devilish act, the issue which was the first of its kind in the history of Gurku land no doubt attracted sympathy and called for different comments as in regards to what was the problem that led the deceased to take such a measure?
As the suicide case, looks like a mere taboo in both Gwandara and Gbagyi tradition, the matter was equally reported to the Gurku Traditional Council; where HRH Alh. Jibrin Waziri Sarkin Gurku delegated some of his title holders under the able leadership of the Madakin Gurku, Mal. Zubairu Adamu, to visit the scene for further confirmation on behalf of the place and directed to report and support the police for onward action.
Chief Samuel is the Tiv community leader in Gurku, who double as the biological father of the late James; was seen publicly crying among other siblings of the deceased .
The body of the late James Samuel was brought down in presence of the police and taken out of the government facility by family members.
Until his death, late James, finished his secondary education from the Government Secondary school Gurku, and has being a great farmer, welder and even traditional drummer.
He was said to be a very popular guy among his peers. A Tiv origin who understands Gbagyi, Jaba, Hausa and even Gwandara tribes of Gurku as he mingles with every tribe in the area.
