English was a "foreign official" language from about 2007 to 2010 or thereabouts.

The two main official languages remain Malagasy and French. As always.

Madagascar is a French colony and French works very well out there.
The only missing peace right now is a Pan- African language that will that is made only of original pre-colonial
tribal languages. No Arabic, no English, no Portuguese, no French, no Spanish , no Afrikaans, etc. Only
o-ri-gi-nal African nations.
