Usually, palpitations are either related to your heart or the cause remains unknown. It could be caused by stress, strenuous exercise, certain medications and stimulants, or in rare cases due to some underlying health conditions such as heart disease, thyroid problem. Most heart palpitations are harmless and resolve on their own without treatment.

If it still persists, you should go for ECG test to possibly detect problems in the heart structure that could cause the palpitations.

And if you're going through stress, you should reduce it. Avoid taking stimulants and illegal drugs.
