Our God is strength. He is not weak, nor does he values weakness. God wants us to be strong and mighty in Him. There are sources of strength for the Christian : the human spirit and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. most people prefer the anointing because its like a gift. But your spirit is just as important. You have to learn to live strong without the anointing. You have to learn to do what's right without the outward anointing. A strong spirit is not a gift; it's something you have to discipline yourself to build. Great men and women never fall because of their anointing. It is their weakness of human spirit that makes them do shameful things that we later read about in the paper. What's is spiritual strenght? Why do I have to be strong? Why do I have to train my human spirit? Why can't I be a nice Christian who just sings " Amazing Grace" and goes to church and loves the Lord the way I want to?
To answer those questions, let's contrast the lives of two men who were both anointed by God but whose life stories had radically different endings. Why? Because one man developed his spirit and the other did very little of that.
If we compare Samson and Joseph, the one we could understand for making a mistake would be Joseph ---- not Samson.Joseph was raised by his father to be a good Israelites. He was reared to have concern for the things of God. Here is a young man who was sold into slavery I'm a foreign country.Can you imagine how he felt? He could be angry. He could say, ". What's the use of keeping the laws of the God of my father? You could see in the natural that if one of these two should make a mistake, it should have been Joseph.But Joseph wasn't the one who made the mistake. It was Samson who had militant power, Samson who was a one- man army, Samson who had the great anointing.Yet he couldn't take care of one woman. Your physical body, when it wants sex, doesn't recognize covenants. It doesn't see wedding ring, it only knows desire. Your conscience is made up of your spirit and your soil. It understands convenants, laws, commitment and morality. If you don't build a strong spirit, you will lose the ability to see or discern, you will lose your liberty and you will end up doing another man's labor.

indeed it takes discipline to train the spirit; the friends one follows, the songs, movies, discussions, personal decisions and a whole lots of them matters.

Some one rightly said that the mind is an interface between the Spirit and the Flesh and both needs ones permission to control the being. Training the spirit is very important especially considering the times we are in.
