I have lived with them before in the North.
Most people in the N/West are actually hybrid of Hausa and Fulani with small traces of other indigenous tribes.


In the N/west, it's only the Migrant Fulani clans that live in the 'Bush' that hasn't mixed with their host significantly.

In Adamawa, Taraba and Gombe States where the surrounding tribes are non-muslims, there is no much cultural assimilation and as such you can find pure Fulani people in these areas.
