This is going to be an interesting read. Trust me. But...

Before I go into this, have you ever stopped to think for a second the reason why people and companies like Glo,6ix9ine,Jose Mourinho,Pogba, Dino Melaye keep on getting talked about even though they kinda suck at what they do?

In a world where there are a lot of people doing the same thing they do and atimes better, they keep on receiving attention...It's controversy. It sells.
I'll use Pogba for example, most people know him for his frequent hairstyle changes than his football career. Even though he doesn't play when he's supposed to,he receives attention and that's why he keeps on getting talked about. Unlike most of his colleagues who are better than him at football,he has commercial value than football value. This is as a result of the attention he generates. You need to realise that ATTENTION+VALUE=MONEY!

I'll be giving you 3 tips to using controversy to attract the attention of your target audience/customers. I'll be very practical.

1)Do the opposite of what the society expects:In the world we're in it's a norm that if you want to be successful, you need to go to school, get good grades, get a certificate and you'll get a job. I've been there infact I used to fantasize about this too. Or if you want to invest you need money. But imagine this scenario, assuming you're reading a newspaper and an article says ...
'How I made N50,000 from investment with no-start up capital'
Now tell me, won't you read it,yes you may think it's a scam but you'll still open it to read first. That's the point,to get your attention.

The second method/tip was gotten from David Frey.
2) Do something controversial/unusual: After the release of his hit-song, NM's fame, attention and popularity grew in Nigeria. Why? He sold himself out as a criminal. It's very unusual to claim this in public especially as a singer in Nigeria,it's common abroad. Let's say for someone selling shoes and bags, don't do yahoo oh. Use this to grab attention, tell stories that sound absurd but not too absurd. Tell them how someone who got your product instantly started having money to buy more from you or how when they got your product they received a gift from you.

Before I reveal the last but not the least tip?

3) Create unnecessary competition and drama: Usually a controversial person creates lots of attention, drama etc .What if I tell you that to create a controversy is by creating a competition made by you. Yes,you! How you may ask?
Let's say you deal in shoes and bags and you know someone who does the same, you can tell your customers that you're better than any other person by preaching BENEFITS of your product to that person's own. What this does is to create a sort of gist in the mind of your customers, and grab their attention.

I hope you enjoyed this.
I'll be anticipating your feedback and don't forget the L.A.M challenge.
