What an insult to youths on this. How can you pay someone 20,000 per month and think you have done much for him/her. It is this same government that put minimum wage at N30,000 and now want to pay youths N20,000. What is the economic and social benefit of the payment to government? Nothing Take a look at this analysis 1000 persons x 774 LGA = 774,000 persons 774,000 persons x N 20000 = N15,489,000,000 monthly 12 months x 15,480,000,000 = 185,760,000,000 yearly. Suppose we ask these youth to come out with a sustainable business idea and share this money to 20,000 youths (whether graduate or not) every year. Each youth will get N9,288,000 for business establishment/expansion. If they do it for the next 3 year, they will empower 60,000 youths directly and create more than 200,000 jobs indirectly. Lets assume we have 60% success rate. you have established 36,000 person for life. This is more than the work force many state government in Nigeria Government, think wise, think progressive pls. FG wants to use one stone to kill two birds by making our environment clean and at the same time employing the youths that would have been roaming the street aimlessly.
