NO JUSTICE! NO PEACE!!
MINNEAPOLIS USA!!!

No more talking. No more waiting. No more tolerating. Minneapolis will continue to burn. People are tired tired tired of injustice. Bring in the National Guard. Bring in the army. It won't make one bit of difference.

Lead Murderer Derek Chauvin has been taken into custody. Four days late.

You ain't done nothing yet.

I'm very angry about this. Execution right in front of us. I've been livid since Tuesday and it's not letting up.

(Yes we should be irate at any injustice. Including in our own country Nigeria. I recall a picture of a dead young man with his hands tied behind his back, apparently killed by Nigerian police. I will look for that Nairaland thread and post here to discuss it when able.)

Right now I will post my Minneapolis update here as it develops.

There was news a little while ago that Obama finally released a statement. Three days late! Goddamn politician.

The protest organizers were in the middle of a very compelling press conference but fake news CNN just had to stop coverage to bring us the all important fake speech of pathological liar Joe Biden. Another goddamned politician.

There's a third "leader," Trump whose foolishness I will address when he gives his own press conference shortly.

I will look for the YouTube post of the protesters press conference and post it. I really need to see the whole thing.

The scumbag County Prosecutor Mike Freeman who less than 24 hours ago was saying there was evidence that the officers did not use excessive force is now giving press conference patting himself on the back about the speed with which he brought charges. This smarmy sheister lawyer is so repellant.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad3H6_9xjzA

P.S. This is breaking news so things are moving quickly. Hence the YouTube video I've posted is live so the prosecutor is now done and another event will follow. I will find a taped version to insert here later.

P.P.S. This prosecutor is so arrogant. I found the only tape of his press conference that I could find for now. It starts at the end of his announcement but includes questioning from reporters and shows his duplicity when he could not answer truthfully or completely. You can see why Black people could never get justice in Minneapolis and surrounding counties with a privileged entitled MoFo like this. He is so dismissive. I've been around a-hole lawyers who act like this.

Chauvin is charged for 3rd degree murder and manslaughter and the other 3 Nazis in police uniform should be arrested and charged for murder and manslaughter too. The pressure continues.

Thank you. I will keep posting on here. There's a few past events and links I definitely want to add before the new developments preclude my ability to go backwards.

The best source for me since Wednesday of up close and personal (embedded videographer) coverage of the protests is this guy:

Trump in Rose Garden giving press conference about China but they promoted it as if it will be about Minneapolis since they know that will make more people tune in. He read the script in his special - unprepared - way he does. But a little better today. Then he turned tail and ran. Taking no questions. I don't blame him; he'll probably put his foot in his mouth again and make things worse.

I hear the reporters moaning, "what happened to the press conference?" Beats me too.

This is a good summary to get caught up with events through Thursday morning:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfwFmLkc_gc
You Must Listen to 11:25-13:08. Must Must MUST!
This was calculated murder and it seems like they still did not charge the scumbag with 1st degree murder!
I've also read that the move of killing using the knee to the throat is a military warfare move and also used frequently by Israelis against Palestinians. For a murderous psychopath police officer who does not want to use a gun, that is a way to kill and still get away with it.

I like this guy, comedian turned political commentator Jimmy Dore's assessment of the culture of police officers. I recently discovered him and really appreciate his candor - a very honest person who admits his own father, grandfather, other relative and friends were cops:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cOgPt3kRUQ&t=10s
This is Jimmy's best and most courageous speech I've yet see, because he goes after people who are his own family, no holds-barred. I hadn't seen the whole thing until after I posted here. Watch and listen to at least the beginning. It's around 15mins.

Demonstrations spreading. Thursday it was at least four major cities including New York, where the police overreacted as usual and arrested 70 people.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXGRR8rJNs0
Today, there's people gathered in some other cities including Atlanta, where I imagine will be quickly dispersed. Don't be fooled about the hype of Atlanta being a Black Mecca, the White business community are in tight control yanking the chain of the figurehead niggas as they please. The last time Blacks attempted a large demonstration around 2016/2017, the city shut down the downtown offices at 2pm and blocked off the demonstrators at the highway before they could get to the White areas or Downtown, so the White office workers could safely get home in the suburbs. The Black mayor went so far as to lambast a young Black Lives Matter female on national TV. The Black politicians are a stinking disgrace!

P.S. Just like in Minnesota where the "Attorney General" is a Black man, and the head of police I believe is a Black man, you see how it makes no damn difference? Not to talk of eight ridiculous years of a Black man as president! But they still get killed every day! Is that power and influence or just figureheads? When politicians are just there to line their pockets and follow the party line, running their reelection campaign as soon as they get sworn in instead of taking a stance and fighting for their constituents even if it's just for one term and making a real difference.

White supremacy seems to be gaining grounds again. What sort of report is this one.
Would the man have died if deadly force was not used? The doc has sneakily removed strangulation.
Oh boi. I don't think I would ever visit that country called the USA. Blacks are endangered species in that country.

I don't have much to add about white supremacy but I will follow up on that another time when I can think about it with clarity.

But off the top, I would estimate based on nothing but my own observation over a couple of decades that the area of the country I am is remarkably and demonstrably less racist than it used to be. You can see it in the younger generation. But nationwide the police are still brutalising Black people for whatever reason. Also, there must be a lot of poverty/apathy and drug abuse, based on the large amount of Black homeless I see around. There should be progress but it appears that the ADOS are not always able to take advantage of the "limited" freedom and economic opportunity that does exist. Same opportunities that immigrants may be able to.

In other news, the wife of the scumbag murderer was a bad check writer! See attached screenshot of article in a British newspaper.

It's kinda hard to enjoy the beauty with the complimentary dose of anxiety, ptsd and hypertension though. Lol.

There is a tremendous change afoot. I see African Americans looking outwards and many will give Africa a chance. Don't be surprised if when the diaspora starts returning home en masse there is an exodus of them going along. Right now I see a lot of videos online of them emigrating to all parts of Asia just trying to escape America.

I can get what make you feel like that but we have to fight for a country we love. Our ancestors built America without pay and we are as American as Apple Pie. Oh I wouldn't say I feel that way (hbp, ptsd etc). I'm more role playing the ADOS perspective in that opening sentence.

And I'm African, born and raised. So I don't feel the same intense connection to this soil as someone of a younger generation who may have been born here feels. Although I do realize lately that relocation back even for me may not be seamless. lol.

Ultimately in this thread, I am advocating for African-Americans as I know and believe that any Black person is affected and can be a victim of what is going on here with this police brutality culture. Remember Abner Louima. Remember Ahmadou Diallo.

Yes both of New York fame. Ahmadou Diallo was shot in the hall way of his building about twenty something times and Abner was the one that was sodomized in a Police Station in Brooklyn. That's how bad the brutality is.

The only place where they know how to do a riot. Cali! Lol.

It's been popping off there. San Jose to be exact.

By the way I really hate the network commentary. These comfortable White people don't get it! It's like listening to Fox News. That's why I go to the independent amateur "Vloggers." I actually today TWICE heard Wolf Blitzer brush off the arrest of their reporter by by noting that the governor already apologized for the mistake. Whothefukk is Blitzer to accept an apology on behalf of a Black man unfairly arrested while ON AIR! Mainstream media is cesspool. A bloated cesspool of multimillionaires. The owl faced guy on at 8pm before Rachel Maddow on msnbc makes 30k a day! Really? Doing what?

Anyway, I tuned in to this feed when a guy refused to be held back from confronting the police who are trying to push them back. I certainly support him. Why go to a protest if you're going to punk out.

The first thing the protesters aren't doing right is their dressing. And that is because we don't often have serious riots in this country. As much as people think America is free and freewheeling, it is actually a police state where you will never see the kind of rioting you see in Hong Kong. They would have killed everyone here before it gets to that level. Their police force is a remnant of slave bounty hunters and paramilitary forces. They are not "peace officers!"

This is a network feed. It's the first one I found of a Califirnia protest. Try and find something better if you can, because at times you will want to slap these news anchors for they commentary.

Live Minneapolis feed.

This is my go to YouTube channel feed for up close and personal view of the Minneapolis protesters. He's in there at every turn, inside Target, inside the 3rd precinct when it was breached, he's everywhere and doesn't show the faces of the looters or the guys setting fires. He's not a snitch unlike the networks like CBS ABC FOX MSNBC whose sole purpose in life right now other than Trump-bashing is to prove that all Black people are doing is looting and robbing - which is nonsense!

He's already talked to some of the young people who said they don't care about the curfew.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRcNwHPL-OM

If the live feed ends go back to their home page and find the next live feed. Don't waste your time watching a tape when there is a live stream ongoing. He'll be there all night till morning.

Remember people are outraged by the killing of Black men and we're fed up! If you're not at that place yet you may not understand the reaction you're seeing.

Living Abroad Is My Way of Prolonging My Black Son’s Life
He is not a threat. He is a loving, innocent child. I can’t bear him becoming another hashtag.

By Imani Bashir
May 29, 2020
New York Times

Upon hearing the news of George Floyd’s killing at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, I was devastated. Although I couldn’t bring myself to watch the video of his death, my anxiety went through the roof because I had seen this many, many times before.

It was Sandra Bland’s death in police custody in 2015 that made me buy a one-way ticket out of the United States. I had never lived abroad before, but I was willing to try anything to escape becoming another hashtag.

Now I have a 3-year-old son to protect from violence. On Wednesday, I found myself spending the entire day with him. I work full time, so I haven’t been able to truly devote myself to one-on-one activities during the pandemic. It was such an emotional day for me, as a mother, and I just wanted to be close to him, hug him, kiss him and hear his cartoonish little laugh.

In the last three months, I have been in four countries and five states — including Wuhan, China, which had been our home for more than a year before the pandemic began. After leaving China, my family and I spent a lot of time trying to get our lives back to normal, which included stops in Malaysia and the Czech Republic, and also involved a three-week separation from my husband and child, because of border closings in Europe.

Thankfully we are now together and staying in an Airbnb in Florida. We’re waiting for international borders to open, because we don’t actually have a residence in the United States anymore, and for good reason.

I moved to Cairo in August of 2015 from Washington, D.C. By March of the next year I would meet my husband there. He coaches American-style football internationally, and before we met, he had lived in four countries outside of the United States.

My husband is a black American and was born and raised on the East Side of Buffalo, N.Y. Buffalo is a city that many people positively associate with their favorite chicken wings, but it’s also a place where my husband lost more than 30 friends to death before he turned 25. When my husband was still living there, black people accounted for 14 percent of the overall population, but 43 percent of arrests. This is a reality black boys and men continue to face across the country.

When my husband and I decided to get married, we didn’t have those clichéd conversations about the house and white picket fence we hoped to have, and we didn’t talk about who would spend what holiday with which side of the family next year.

For my husband and me, the conversation was: Where could we safely raise a family? Where could we feel like we didn’t have a constant threat or target on our backs? And although we weren’t quite sure, we knew that going back to the United States was out of the question.

I gave birth to our son, Nasir, in February of 2017. He was born in Szczecin, Poland, where my husband had taken a contract just weeks before my due date. I refused to attempt giving birth in the States because black women are three to four times more likely to die in pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum than their white counterparts. Black babies have an infant mortality rate that is higher than babies of any other race. I simply wanted us to stay alive, and I could not trust that to be the end result if I stayed in America.

By the time Nasir turned 2, we left Poland and returned to Egypt. Then we moved on to China. We traveled all over for pleasure. People took a liking to Nasir, no matter where we went in the world. Strangers would hand him money or sweets, and sometimes people would just want to give him a high five, a hug or a kiss.

“He’s such a good boy,” remarked a team of flight attendants on a trip we took to Greece. They were so enamored with him and handed me some European chocolate that was as big as he was.

As much as I reveled in their kindness, I began to think, “When does this change?” I knew that although Nasir was adorable to people now, at some point he could be Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin or Michael Brown. So, I decided to ask a friend who has four sons of different ages, hoping that maybe I was just paranoid.

“Do people look at your sons differently, when they hit a certain age? And at what age is that? I feel like people are so in love with Nasir right now, but I fear that this is going to change,” I said to her.

Before she even responded, I felt a lurch in the pit of my stomach. It was an intuitive panic that screamed, “Get ready!”

She told me that it changes around 10. That’s when you start to experience teachers claiming your child has behavioral problems, and when women start clutching their purses or walking briskly past to avoid contact with your precious boy.

In the United States, black children face harsher punishments and more frequent disciplinary actions against them than any other race in a school setting. Black children are 18 times more likely to be tried as an adult than white children are for similar crimes. And according to the American Psychology Association, black boys as young as 10 are viewed as older and less innocent than white boys — exactly as my friend experienced with her sons.

Nasir is 3. He loves cars, trucks and “Paw Patrol.” His favorite snacks are cashews and fruit snacks. He likes to say that he’s a “big boy” and wants to do so many things by himself. I have watched him grow inside of my body and now as he’s become an effervescent toddler. So, as a mother I have to protect that innocence by prolonging his life as much as I can.

Does racism exist everywhere? The short answer is yes, but our quality of life is much different as black Americans who choose to live outside of the United States. The angst of worrying about bills and debt takes a backseat to being able to fully enjoy where we live.

In our experience, police in other parts of the world are much kinder and don’t interact with us too much outside of simply offering greetings. Most countries that we have lived in have much stricter gun laws than the United States does, and they certainly don’t allow vigilantes to use a weapon on someone’s child without severe punishment. Nasir gets to be a 3-year-old who has tantrums as equally as he offers hugs and kisses. He can play with a toy gun without the threat that he will be returned real gunfire and lose his life.

One day I will see him graduate and get married and become a man who has purpose, goals and problems just like anyone else. But I cannot do that in America, because I need that day to become a reality, and not just a dream that gets destroyed.

isalgan2,
Nice to see you back opening threads again.
My concern about this riot issue is that it is likely being planned and orchestrated by white racist government of USA.

Perhaps to give authorities the excuse to send troops against the black communities in the country.

USA and other white racist gobalist countries are currently on a drive to depopulate black people worldwide. So all this is likely part of their plan and we should be wary of falling into any trap they may set for us.
Stay alert.

These accursed politicians still don't get it!

I'm listening to the Black MALE mayor of St. Paul, Minnesota bloviating about "I stand with you. . . there's a constructive manner for us to. . ." blah blah sh#t.

Before him the white mayor of Minneapolis.

Before him the governor of Minnesota.

Last night the durmbass piranha toothed unqualified and POWERLESS BLACK Mayor of Atlanta, played to the CNN cameras with her fake quiet sobs.

The theme of all their rhetoric?
"save the businesses." They are there to watch the pocketbook of their financiers, the people who contribute money to their election campaign and keep them in "power" for long enough to enrich themselves and rise through the political ranks, maybe all the way to presidential candidacy like 50-year career-politician Biden.

Self-interest. That's all these bought-and-paid soulless mercenaries understand.

What else do they all have in common? DEMOCRATS. Every single one of them. What have they done for the downtrodden Blacks whose vote they continue to exploit? Not a goddamn thing!

The masses are heartbroken about the senseless killings of Black people and oppression for 400 years. A man is killed right in front of us while the prosecutor waits 4 days to under-charge him at the same time his co-murderers walk free, and the citizens are brutalized and tear-gassed while expressing their outrage. And all they can do is offer empty words and continued threat of paramilitary might. The people are fed up. They do not care! They are not scared. Not anymore.

If I'm this angry trust me they are doubly a hundred times more outraged!

I've been telling people since Tuesday this is not gonna be like before. I could feel it. As soon as I watched the video of that man getting the life snuffed out of him while the murderers smiled and taunted him I knew it would never be like old times.

You've been lying and promising that you would do this and that. But you ain't done sh#t. They get Blacks to vote for them and put some of them in prominent positions but yet their people continue to be victimized. No power. All smoke and mirrors.

Hey, bro.
There's so much going on in the world currently so I will not address something for which I haven't yet formed a clear and concise opinion.

But today there's been, all of a sudden, coverage about "outside agitators" infiltrating the protests, specifically the Minneapolis group - claim by the MN governor in his press conference. MSNBC then took it and continued taking about it, and reporting that the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) was claiming that white supremacists are moving en masse to overrun the Black Lives Matter group.

You see the Blacks and Whites have been showing outrage together because many people are very hurt about the injustice of what they saw Derek Chauvin do to Mr. George Floyd. So there are many younger people participating in the protests and that is a very good thing for Black people because it shows there's lots of support for this cause.

So we need to not rush to label our supporters our enemies, but be really wary and consider who would feel threatened as this movement gets stronger and it gets wide support?

I'll leave it there for now.

Even as far away as Fargo, North Dakota! shocked If there are more than a dozen Black people in Fargo I'll be shocked. cheesy One of my college friends was from North Dakota (Bismarck). I doubt she ever saw a Black person until she left ND. grin

Kudos to them. I love the support. This is not just Black looters and White jack booted anarchists as the corrupt MN governor insinuates. It's regular white people! Don't believe the hype.
